I sense sabotage for some reason. But really, Boomers just doesn't seem to give a shit about their machines. They have two dead machines in the arcade and don't seem to care about fixing them. I'm the only person who wipes down Technika and makes it look clean, as well.

yeah thats pretty sad. im really disappointed with irvine boomers. though, i'll probably still play there until they take that machine out. that is, assuming i ever get that panda card i ordered. its been a week already!

I bought a Basic Season Pass ($59) specifically for Technika so it better be up tomorrow. I'm gonna call and if it's working again, I'll go down there. I need to level up!

Just called and they said it's been working since yesterday! I guess the guy fixed it yesterday morning. Also, I should mention that the morning staff seem a lot more efficient and knowledgeable than the night staff who don't seem to give a shit.

I might go down today.

Had a pretty good session today. Only was there for 3 or so hours, but the machine didn't die and nothing screwy happened. However, due to the sudden dryness in weather lately, my finger tips have been a lot drier than usual and made drags impossible due to the friction. I'll have to find some tape to help me out.

I'll be back either tomorrow or Saturday; depends on how my fingers are doing.

P.S. I must note how efficient the Thursday staff at Boomers are. When I called, they knew what I was talking about, and while I was there, some guy was filling redemption games with tickets and overall helping out a lot more than I see any other time.

Went here today. The top screen was completely fudged up. It was in super contrast and the animation was very flowy and trippy. I just referred to it as LSD mode. I don't know what would cause this (video card or wiring), but I'm hoping it'll get fixed soon. If not, it doesn't really matter to the player, and it's pretty trippy and fun to look at.

I'll be back this Tuesday!

Because they set up their card swipe system on the machine haphazardly. It seems like they literally just drilled a hole in the back, hooked up a CAT5 cable to the card swipe deal and let it come right out the back. I remember when I wiggled the cable a bit one time and the video just went off on the machine until I wiggled it again.

Anyway, Corey seems to agree with me that it's a video card problem and it should just be reseated. Now, getting Boomers to do that is a whole 'nother story.

ahh that makes sense. tbh, i hate that stupid card swipe system. sure its convenient in that you dont have to carry tokens, but irvine boomers made it so that its a 3:4 token to quarter ratio. and you have to spend at least 25 bucks just to break even...

I actually love the card system a lot more. Sure, at the basic rate, it costs $1.33 per game and you can't get down to $1.00 a game unless you buy the $25 deal, the season pass is great. $60 for 3 months with 4 hours to play every day, except Saturdays. After my first day, I already got 1/5 of that paid off. And like you mentioned, the tokens thing. It's a lot more convenient to have a light card than to carry around a bunch of tokens.

But in all honesty, if Boomers either gets rid of their machine or doesn't get Platinum Crew, I'll be going to CGL to play and won't mind dealing with tokens and (slightly) more expensive Technika playing. Plus, their pizza is AWESOME.

i'd get the season pass, except i'll be going down to san diego for school at the end of september, so theres not much point. anyhow, i finally got my panda card, so now i can start putting data on my own card! thinkin about going to CGL or boomers tonight actually.
