BTW, where the heck is it? Last time I went to Little Tokyo, I couldn't find it at all. I remember it being in the ground floor of some mini-mall, but I can't even find that for the life of me. Is it on the same block as the Anime Jungle or the Kinokuniya?

It's on the second floor of a little shopping center. Grocery store and small shops on the first.

Japan Arcade's DM and GF machines are usually in mediocre condition, but sometimes things are either totally broken or in semi-working order. Whenever something is busted, I tell the guy working there or the owner and they do fix it though. Also, like almost nobody plays at this place, usually only on weekends is there more than like two people (or anyone) in the arcade.

3400 Alameda

Its on the second floor of this shopping center that has mitsuwa in it

Personally Melchior I don't think its really worth a trip there unless you happen to be in the area.

Guitar Freaks

1P guitar freaks side usually doesnt work, sometimes it picks for no reason
I forget which side it was but the strap is broken and unadjustable
the sound is kinda configured poorly. It has extremely loud guitar sounds but the BGM is really quiet

DM machine

hi hat is usually in bad shape
The cymbal is about as hard as a rock same with snare and toms.

Dammit, all this info about GFDM being in bad condition is making me sad... How will I be able to show off whatever little DM skills I have to the Dragon-setsunamono crowd?

Their 3rd strike sitdowns occasionally stop working joystick-wise until you land a punch or kick. I still managed to not lose though. But that was annoying.

When are people usually here? This place is close by my house. :X I wouldn't mind meeting new people. I'll try to go this weekend on saturday. Just to play BM III.

Wow, I start posting on here only to find all these other BMS members going to Japan Arcade.

My typical trip to Little Tokyo is usually Casa Manga (sure, it's probably bootleg anime, but for $12/disc, I'm not complaining), Japan Arcade, grab an Italian Soda at the ice cream shop on the 1st level of the mall where JA is, then maybe stop by Kinokyuniya and get some food at the Curry House To Go.

I'm still dissappointed that the Samba de Amigo machine is just sitting there, waiting to be activated. And funny thing about the Typing of the Dead machine. Back when it was on the right side of the BM machine, instead of those stools they have for all the sitdown games, or those swivel seats, they used leftover Ridge Racer (I know, RIIIIIIIDGE RACERRRRRR) seats for TotD. Too bad I'm moving to Arizona next week. I've just quit my job, I'm packing up and going out. Chances are I might go to Little Tokyo sometime during the early week next week with my friends, but Japan Arcade? Maybe not. I've been frequenting Family Arcade on Vermont, right across the street from L.A. City College. I just went today.

Anyways, I might stop by on my occasional trips back to L.A., but oh well. Too bad I didn't know about everyone here going sooner. For anyone who goes to JA and plays Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune, my name might be familiar. I have the top time for the Metropolitan Highway TA on both machines (at least as of a month or 2 ago, haven't checked). That or I'm the guy with the backwards cap that drives the purple Toyota Celsior.
