Hmmm, the D&B now has a new arcade manager (Andy). This new manager managed a D&B with a PROPERLY working and excellent PIU machine.

He tells us that our PIU NX1 machine here will be upgraded to PIU NX Absolute.

I believe it is time to rejoice (now we'll have 2 locations in NorCal with PIU NXA).

Oooh. Definitely let us know if you find out when that will be. I've been wanting to go to D&B again since I turned 21 (haven't been there since my 13th birthday D: ), and this would be a great excuse!

That would be preferable to the GH arcade they have there. :P Well, I'll ask the manager if I see him again or ask my PIU buddy to ask. Wow that would make a total of 3 machines in South Bay alone.

Now that I think about it, I suppose Technika would probably fit D&B better than rhythm games like IIDX and pop'n, given the drunkards that might be in the place at the time (yuck to vomit or spilled alcohol on my TT, keys, or buttons ) Technika being touch-based can bring in curious people who already play touch-based arcade games. :P

They've been REALLY lax recently on posting a "guard" at the front to stop you from entering.

I've gone on Wed. night (half-price Wed.!) multiple times this and last month and no guard was present. Went a few times on Sat. afternoon and still no guard. Your likelihood of getting stopped at the door is really low right now. However, there isn't much for rhythm games other than PIU NX1 (but that's going to change) and GH arcade (ugh). Technika might stand a chance, but there's none in the main D&B HQ in TX, so I'm not sure what will happen.

I think I'll need to bug the manager to find someone to fix/replace those AWFUL pads.

Talked to arcade tech and manager... seems like the kit might be here already just not installed. Anyway, looks like the request to fix those awful pads is in, so I'm checking/complaining again on Wed.

Yes, Zero is boring... but wait, we still have a Zero at MGL? I thought that's gone now.

Anyway, not in as of last Wed., so checking out the machine this Wed.

Wouldn't know. Last I saw it, it had been moved outside next to DDR Extreme. I've been out of town for 2 months at college. Haven't been to MGL since.

Seems like the 2P side has gotten better, since I asked them to fix it. The three buttons 1P, 2P, and C are more sensitive than they used to be.

However, seems like we're stuck with NX1 till next month from what I've been told. Well, NXA then is better than nothing even if a new mix is coming out soon.

Ok, scratch that.

The Bay Area's first Pump It Up: NX Absolute machine is FINALLY here! NXA is at D&B, AND the USB slots are working perfectly. The 2P pads feel better than they used to, but it's not 100% perfect/UC Davis condition. But 1P is still good... and even in this state, I still managed to play NM mode pretty well.

Unfortunately, I gave the machine H1UCDavis1 by infecting the machine with scores from the machine in Davis which seems to have been carried by my USB and has affected any songs that had no high scores. :P (which was a lot of them)

Anyway, if anyone in the area wants to play, I have a 45% unlocked stick that has all four "add-on" songs (Dawn of the Apocalypse, Final Audition Ep. 2-X, Do It!, and Trato de no Trabarme). People can use my stick AND we can possibly play some Worldmax missions together and/or Brain Shower? :P

Good news for all Bay Area music players with NXA finally arriving (1-3 months before the new mix, but oh well) and Platinum Crew on the DJMax Technika side announced and hopefully coming to us.
