I know there's another one up north more called Great America
(i hear from my brother) and it has very similar rides (Like a Tatsu

I think there's one in Texas too.

I think you are thinking about Six Flags Marine World up here in Northern Cali.

I don't know much about the coasters though since I haven't been there in like 5 years.

No. He's not.

He's talking about Superman: Ultimate Flight in Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois. It's a B&M Flyer-type coaster, kind of a beta version of Tatsu. (And it sucks).

Marine world USED to have a flying coaster(ver 1 of the type), but it was removed. Marine World was home to the original Floorless coaster, Medusa. Scream at SFMM is identical to Medusa, except for the track color.

No, no, and no.

Marine World has never had a flying coaster, Paramount's Great America did. It was removed to make room for the waterpark.

Medusa at Six Flags Great Adventure is home to the original Floorless coaster, which Scream is a clone of.

And with Stealth, I thought that was at Marine World. Meh, my memory sucks. But now I remember.

Somehow, i feel this is all a gimmick to get people to go to Six Flags more ^_^'''

I'd think they'd be making a lot of money off those carnival games~
I mean, $5 to air ball a shot isn't fun (i speak from experience).

You'd think that, but then think of this....

They have to buy food for the guests
They have to pay their workers
They have to pay for operating the rides
They have to pay to keep the rides working well
They have to buy say, new wheels for the ride, updated brakes.

This is why sometimes Six Flags runs 1 train on some rides. Either it's:

A: Not too crowded, and an extra train isn't needed
or
B: It costs extra to run more trains.

Tatsu runs 3 trains. But, for how long I don't know. X sometimes runs 1 train. Which causes HUGE lines, longer down-time, and more unhappy people. But I'm sure it costs a lot less money.

All i can say now is that if a decision were to may be made to sell this particular park, it won't be until after the summer is over (~end of this year). And even if they do sell, the new owner(s) may not chose to demolish, they may just license it under a new name/alter the park etc.

so we should all support six flags as best we can by going there this summer.

Wouldn't it be interesting if they were bought by Cedar Fair or possibly Busch Gardens?

The problem is, that this place entered the coaster wars. This hurt it, as now they only provide rides for teens and hardcore coaster fans. Not enough people out there to supply the revenue they need. That said, what they need to do is bring in more families. Make the park more family friendly. But I think there too deep in the water to ever bring back families to the park.

6 flags magic mountain is going bankrupt because they took out too large of a loan to build rollercoasters. They opened at least 3 or 4 new roller coaster rides within 3 years. A roller coaster depending on size costs about 15 (Batman) to 25 million (Goliath and X) to build. The reason they built so much was their original plan was to soop up the park with new rides and stuff so they could sell. 6 flags had plans to sell the park for quite some time but they haven't had any buyers and its getting close tot he time where the bank is gonna repo the park. That is one reason why they are putting a lot of emphasis on selling the park just recently. If they dont sell the park, you can bet within a year or 2 the park will be gone.

SFMM isn't the only one that is in debt. It's pretty much then compony, from what I believe.
