So in my midst of having nothing to do today at work, I listened to Empress songs. I was even OPTIMISTIC about it!

Man.

At least the last few styles, albeit boring overall, had a couple of great songs. I've heard zzzzzzzzzzzzzero so far from empress. I feel like I have to dumb down my taste in music each style. ;_;

But the plus side is I got sidetracked into listening to 8th style songs. Nayce.

I dunno, the music the last few styles has had a fair amount of utter stinkers, but the quality has held pretty steady too on the mid to upper end. There's definitely a bunch of songs I will really enjoy on this style (A LOT more charts seem to be in my playable range this time around compared to troopers), so thats a plus for me. A lot of the music they've been bringing into the series from outside has been better than recent in house productions though I think.

Did Taka really have to make another V? Did Kors K really need to have like 4 songs on this style (albeit Flash Back 90's was really cool in its explicitly Disconation part). The Setup song is okay but not ground breaking. I do like the crossover in Jack, and I thought M-Project's song was great. House Nation is a nice addition, and I like the Album selections on this style (Shining Polaris, Fly Away (technically), and Bahram Attack) as opposed to DJT's I'm In Love Again and Blue Rain.

Still eager to hear Hyperion and I hope to god I get a shot to try 3y3s, although it will probably ream my ass pretty good. ><

Yeah Taka did make another "V" its called V2, it actually sounds exactly the same as V except it has a violin as the main melody and the song is somewhat rearranged. I just passed it on hyper today, its a 5, 10, 11 i think.

A lot of songs on Empress are remakes of old songs or sound very similar them. The interface is kinda cheesy, not that I have a problem with the pink princess theme but they definitely could have done a better job. DJ Empress is definitely the "Windows ME" of IIDX

It was made for the sake of the Milestone album, not for the sake of EMPRESS. And V is, after all, one of TAKA's trademark songs. And with that in mind, there's really no way we could have NOT seen TAKA make a different mix for V.

I agree with you on I'm In Love Again, but Blue Rain has one of the best notecharts of DJT.

It's an 11 on hyper, although it should be dumbed down to a 10. I'm pretty damn fucking sure the another'll be a 12 when it comes out.

In any case, MAHOROBA (minus DAI) is just about one of the few things that I look forward to in EMPRESS. The OMES is quite disappointing.

Meh, V2 could have stayed on Milestone for all I cared. It would have been something if he had taken a different piece of Winter altogether, to have more of an A/AA/S-A feel, but using the same movement of the same piece is kinda boring imo. Really could care less about V2.

Only ever played it on Hyper cuz I suck, it was enjoyable, and the song was good, but the chart just didnt feel replayabyle to me.

I like Empress, though it hasn't been as good as HS or DD, I'd say its on par with DJT, and better than GOLD, IMO.
