Default What's wrong with the DJT in CHQ Metrotown, Burnaby, BC???

I went to CHQ today and the DJT was not turned on.
There was a note indicated that "Coin Not Counting"
The Machine looked totally FINE, did that mean the coin throw aperture was broken?
I was there last night and the machine was just fine, what's wrong?

Also, the store's owner, which is that baldheaded white guy, was REALLY REALLY IMPOLITE!!!
I asked him that if he can fix the problem, what he said was like:
"I don't know!!"
"So what?"
"It's broken don't you know?"
"I can't fix it don't ask me!!"

He always responses perfunctorily and acts like he doesn't care about the machines.
What he does everyday is just to walk around and look at people with his strange facial expression.
Is there any manager that I can complain about his attitude?

Still, the most important thing is that who can fix the machine =_="

The DJ troopers works fine when I went today.

HE IS the manager, and he is the smartest arcade owner that I've ever known.

You don't know what kind of shit he has to put up with. Your one incident isn't all he has to deal with all day. That machine was supplied by Espot and he cannot open the door for the coins.

You try working there on a Friday and Saturday and keeping a smile on your face all day.

News flash - arcade machines break sometimes.

Dude's running a successful arcade business in North America. Gotta have smarts for that.

Sometimes his attitude may be a little uncalled for but I remember when I used to work there on some weekends.. the nerve of some people!

You're trying to help someone with a problem, another person wants THIS prize for THIS many tickets, there is a wheel error on the MT2, someone is TAPPING A TOONIE ON THE GLASS becuase he wants change, a little kid keeps saying EXCUSE ME EXCUSE ME cause he wants tokens. It's exhausting.

I mean yeah, it's a business and you should expect it but people complain about his attitude and he still is highly successful so..

lol

I'm not the English native speaker and I don't know about their organization
YES I'M REALLY STUPID TOO, KEEP LAUGUING

Why didn't he just indicate that "I don't know how to fix it so don't ask me!!" on the note as well, and I'll never bother him.
If he could answered me politely, even though he really couldn't did anything to fix the machine, it made coustomer felt better.
I don't care about what he needs to deal with everyday with thoese stupid people because that's HIS JOB. Why should I care?
Tired of doing same things everyday? Then CLOSE IT
That's why I think some White people should really learn the working and servicing attitude from Japanese people because obviously they are just not professional

You wanted to speak to a manager of the OWNER of the place. That doesn't make sense for any
business, anywhere in the world.

I never said you were stupid but that part about white people is pretty ignorant!

Quit it guys. William I must have just missed you.. I went at 1 oclock, and the machine was off. You must have just left or something.

Sometimes the machine gets a coin error. All you have to do is unplug the machine and plug it back in. After it restarts it should work again.

You have to be careful though, on the back of the machine, Graham doesn't always unplug it from the wall when he turns it off, yesterday I found out that he had ripped out the ac plug from the back of the machine. However, when I plugged it back in, and the machine restarted, amazingly! it worked again.

Every IIDX player at Metrotown should know about the coin error, it happens eventually no matter what. All that is required is a machine restart to fix the problem. Do not let graham turn off the machine, it does not do anything. One time I tried to plug it back in and restart it and he just came and unplugged it again. So just explain to him that it's ok.

OK GUYS?!

Yeah, he's smart

I need change but I don't want 20 loonies, so I stand by the coin area waiting for Graham to come over. He's doing some shit with the ticket machines... understandable, because those things are some of the few machines he actually owns. I try to get his attention; succeeded, gave some indication he was busy with the machines.

Fair enough, I stand there and wait for him to finish up whatever he's doing and come over. But he doesn't, not even after 5 minutes. I think I am fairly patient, but this is too much.

Take a step back here. There is a paying customer with money in his hands who needs your help so that he can give YOU money. Sure, maybe he doesn't get anything from the machines that I or any of my friends play. Guess who's paying rent for the machine that's there, though?

Maybe he really is "smart". To me, it doesn't seem like a good idea to be driving away customers by acting like a dick. Having to work long hours does not excuse you from being dismissive and condescending. People only come to you because they figure you can help; if you can't, that's too bad. If you aren't able to be nice about it, guess what -- you just took away their reason to stay. I guess we'll go to another arcade where the machines are actually working, then. And where the people actually give a shit about the customers

In the end it doesn't matter because there will always be highschool kids and other assorted patrons keeping the arcade afloat. Nothing more than being in a good location with lots of foot traffic. However, I can tell you that I go to CHQ to put money in Stan's pockets, not Graham's. It has 100% to do with his attitude.

Lol, for sure. I cannot defend Graham on his bad mood streaks.

But, the mere fact that the IIDX machine is on Graham's property means Graham gets a percentage of the profits. I'm sure you realize this.

Stan gets the money; he pays Graham rental space for the machine, and the same goes for the other ones he owns there. It explains why he doesn't give a shit about the coin error and just turns the machine off instead of actively looking for some solution -- he gets paid either way

Something along the lines of "Assholes win in the end, hurhur~"?

Well that is news to me!

But at the same time, Graham does not get the keys to open the coin door

So technically he could do no more than you or I could. So when someone tells him something is wrong he calls stan to come fix it cause he has the keys.
