I think people are a little harsh on CHQ, to be honest. They can't do anything about the walking space without taking away machines, and there's barely a machine in there which isn't used heavily. You take away a machine you make the people who like it sad. Yeah, they could probably lose the DM V3 and maybe a couple more things, but there's not a whole lot they could do.

They can't do anything about opening hours either, mostly - although around Christmas they open later on some nights, I guess because the mall management let them. But in malls, the mall management set the opening hours, and the stores have to open at those hours - no longer, no shorter.

I really don't think they're that bad about maintaining the machines. I see guys in there servicing them regularly. When the DM machine breaks I tell someone about it and usually they have it serviced in a day or two. Sure, it breaks a lot, but that's not their fault - it's the fault of the idiot kids who pound the crap out of it. What more could they do? Have security kick the crap out of the kids? ah, if only. If we're talking maintenance, the DM 10 at E-Spot has been broken for HOW many weeks now?

I get what you mean about events, but it's a bit tough. They can't do late nights like E-Spot can (because it's a mall). The place is more or less busy all the time it's open, and there's not a lot of space. So it would be pretty tough to run some kind of organized event in there.

checky: so, I'm not quite sure where your story was going - did you manage to beat the kid? I mean, he can play GH on expert - that's gotta be tough for you to match.

I won't hide -- the excuses I came up with all originate from Graham. I hate his business approach, therefore I hate it when circumstances dictate CHQ to be the most viable alternative (ie - need to burn a few minutes waiting for friend to arrive, don't feel like driving, etc).

By no means are they meant to be justifications of any sort... if it helps, think of them as extensions of the premise

I wonder, how do you play Aeiryu, do you play "flat-fingered" or do you "curl" your fingers (like going stigcatto on a piano)??

If so, that would explain why the circular buttons suck, I have had the same problem

Speaking of flat-fingered play... about midway through a particularly challenging stream of notes something weird happened to the middle finger of my left hand. Imagine a magnet at the end of the finger tip and one of the opposite pole on my palm... yeah, it was like 5x gravity was forcing my finger into into my wrist

Kinda hard to describe

First time it ever happened to me... no clue what caused it but it was kinda scary

Nerve damage.. carpal tunnel.. could be one of a few things. If it happens again go to see a doc.

I dont believe so, Checky was recommending you do so if it happens again. Kind of a worrisome thing to happen though.
