i'd say i didn't mind the timing on the break, but i was able to manage a 97k on a 37 in pop'n with the sound and video 1/4 a second behind when i was actually hitting the notes, SO PERHAPS I'M A BIT WEIRD THAT WAY

Shakes fist at stolen joke!

Also, I'd like to meet you too Dark. I'd like to find out why you've gotten everyone from Florida (including Kaze ) to hate 8otb.

I honestly have no idea what youre talking about. I may have mentioned to Kaze the timing sucking (and maybe 8otB sucking period), but all of FL? Hyperbole. The fact of the matter is, 8otB isnt that significant for me to bring it up in conversation.

Why was my experiences at 8otB bad? I've been there with 2 other friends from FL. We expected to see what was once one of the most talked and loved arcades on the east coast. I'll be honest, we didnt find much to love. Both my friends said the pads on the Extreme sucked, and I was totally disappointed by the timing on the 8th style. The broken guitar freaks machine was really great too. One friend had fun playing ITG2 and Initial D with some locals, but me, my other friend, and NISSAN basically just stood around in disbelief that this was 8otB, NISSAN being a NJ resident.

I have nothing against you or the people who go to 8otB. There was this one dude who came to the Nexus that just creeped the fuck out of all of us and claimed to be from the 8otB crew, but thats about it. I just call it how it is. You want to impress me? I'll be there soon enough.

Heres my question to you: Why is 8otB so great?

Come to one of my tournaments and you'll never ask that question again.

The break is not meant to be a haven for Bemani freaks. It's meant to be an arcade and it's a fucking awesome one. It has a killer selection of fighters, best selection of pinball anywhere, Initial D, fun selection of old school games, and a good selection of Dancing/Bemani. As of right now, it's lacking due to ParaPara being gone and GF being (almost) indefinitely broken.

We also have affordable food that many would argue is not only acceptable to eat, but damn good. Our staff is generally cool and helpful.

The people that frequent the dancing games are either incompetent or awesome. The latter being the one that I and the people I associate with are.

People in the bemani scene are the most opinionated about their precious games being screwed up in the least bit. I take care of the extreme machine and it's in very good condition (save maybe the 1p side bar and the screen being a bit offcenter). And I already explained the issue with the iidx machine.

This is one of the main reasons the Break is awesome. Their pinball selection alone is worth the trip for me.

I love pinball too, but every time Ive been at the break half the machines have been completely totaled.

Out of all the types of the machines, I'd think the Pinball would generate the least complaints - this hardcore Pinball tech dude comes in to work on the machines maybe every two weeks or so.

If what youre trying to say is that I'm having a hissy fit over a little timing problem, then youre mistaken. The Nexus had a happy sky machine that had irregular timing as well, but it was adjustable in the sense that after a couple of games you'd get it down decently. Every weekend I would put at least 20 dollars into that machine, so I obviously wasnt bitching. I'm not one to complain because I got a AA instead of AAA at the Nexus. Im one to complain about machines that arent playable, such as broken DDR pads (of which I never played Extreme at 8otB, those were my friend's comments), and bad IIDX. I just want to have fun, and if the machines cant give me fun, I deem them bad.

If this is true, I'll play that more than IIDX.

Dont worry, I'll be there soon enough. I'll be sure to look for you so you can give me the 8otB experience

Their names are Mike and Paul and they are there once or twice a week.
