Try this and see if it works

Try this and see if it works | Go learn something about the VGA standard. That port isn't VGA standard. It runs at the wrong refresh rate and as such only VERY expensive monitors work there.

Yesterday I removed the glass from the front of the machine, hit the monitor with my fist, and it flashed on. I combo'd the first 25% of Butterfly Kung Fu (no feat, I know.)mix before it turned off again. Now it only turns on for very brief flashes if I hit it in the right place.
Oh, and by 'expensive', Betson means between 600 and 800 dollars. Noooooope.
I tried ordering the replacement parts from channel beat (monitor, chassis) but they were outta stock.
Does anyone know if the monitor from a DDR, Beatmania, or GF machine would work in this?
Thanks.

Thanks. | If hitting the monitor worked, check the connections on the back of the monitor to the monitor. they might just be lose.

I also used one of those gizmos to check the voltage levels in all the components, and everything seems to be workin' all right. I reckon it's some loose wiring inside the monitor itself, and that's not easy to fix without risking yer life.

You just need thick rubber gloves and an ounce (or more) of common sense. theres plenty of arcade monitor repair guides on the internet. check google.

So if you look around you I'm sure you could get one for under $600.

Beware if you buy a DDR monitor though. DDR monitors for no explainable reason are 100V and cannot handle the 20 extra volts provided by 120V line current. so make sure you've got the right monitor.

Total Tokens: 237.66 Donate Tokens | Yeah, I saw the Wells-Gardner 27 inch for about $550, but even if I would spend that much on this machine, it's too small. Channel Beat is sold out of theirs, darnit.
Looks like I'm just gonna send it back and let the merchant repair it for me or gimme a refund.
Thanks for all the help on this, everyone.
