Maryland's pretty cool, especially its rural areas. I hate its lack of Bemani, though, but that's why I look forward to Otakon!

The only one I ever go to is the DDR Extreme at City Place in Silver Spring. And I don't play DDR that much any more so I don't really go there often either

Hagerstown has a good Extreme at Playland, in Ellicott City there is another good Extreme with memory card slots at Brunswick Zone (bowling alley) and in White Marsh at the movies there is another Extreme. Eastpoint Mall has an SN, but it is 2.50 a game. oh, i forgot, in New Market there is a place called Adventure Park with an Extreme and an ITG2 dedicab. another ITG2 dedicab exists in Columbia, at a place called Cyberden.

i think those are all the machines i know about fairly locally for me (White Marsh area). if you're in Frederick, there is a pretty good group of people around there. Playland and Adventure Park are your best bets probably. beyond that a little is Cyberden and Brunswick Zone (aka Normandy Lanes), but after that its probably a bit far. i spend most of my dancing time at Normandy and Cyberden and you might be surprised at the amount of people i play with fairly regularly. they're still out there, they're just not big forum people.

I thought the machine in White Marsh mall was non-existent these days. If we speak of the same arcade (Tilt) then it has since been shut down. I could be losing my head but that was the only machine I knew of near White Marsh movies.

you are correct, it was shut down. Tilt closed on Memorial Day, which was a big downer for me. however, since then, the movie theater itself actually picked up a machine, which i hear is of a pretty good level of quality. its a dollar for Extreme, but its that or drive 45 minutes for me. right now im driving just to avoid the movie theater crowd, but its good to know there is a machine right near me.

i'm almost certain that the closest IIDX machine (even though i think its broken right now) is the 8th at 8toB. VA used to have one, but they sold it or something. i think the next closest is in NY, i know i played on a machine there once at an FYE. im not sure if they're still open, but then again that was a weird trip anyway.

if you end up at WM some time, lemme know. i havent been to that machine either but i hear its not bad.

The one at 8otb was broken the last time I went there (April-ish). The left side had 3-4 dead keys and if you tried to play Yesterday the machine would crash.

Any idea if it's fixed now?

i live pretty close to there. ive been a couple times. i would have gone more, but you have to be 21 or have someone 25 or older with you to get in since there is a bar in the main area. also, the screen is slightly off center and the pads arent always kept up to speed. its an ok machine at best i would say.
