Default Ann Arbor Pinball Petes

now has V3 session

It's in the V cabs I believe, haven't seen it myself yet. I'm assuming they have 2 guitars on the GF again, but also know they didn't get rid of GF11. Heard about it from one friend the other day, but since I'm out of town I had to call someone in ann arbor to go check it out for me.

4 stages, bonus tracks are 2. I'm going to be playing the shit out of that DM cab. First V5 and now this, to think I was mourning the loss of DM years ago just last month :p

I went downtown to get some dinner last night and decided to stop in to Pete's. Imagine my surprise when I saw that not only were the GFDM cabs working, but they were upgraded to V3. I'm really surprised they upgraded after leaving the machines dead for the last 2 years. Needless to say I'll be spending a good bit of time there, provided the machines stay working.

Now wait, so do all the pads on the DM actually WORK?

Christ almighty, this may be a milestone. I don't think those worked even before they upgraded to V, there was always something wrong with one of the pads, if they weren't broken for the past couple years.

The worst part is that it's so damn EASY to fix that problem. I've watched it done a dozen times, and it never takes more than an hour or two to get the entire thing working in tip-top shape again.

Pete's V3 Hi-Hat is messed up. Maybe we need to go up there and step-by-step walk them through it. GF V3 is fine though. Was a lot of fun~

OK Good news and bad news, and sorry to be a bit late with it.

The hihat definitely was screwed up, and ended up shorting and frying to V3 board (At least I think that's what happened? That's what I was able to gather)

I went one night to find the DMV3 powered down, ended up going the next day to play GF. While I was there, the man who as far as I could tell was in charge of all of the bemani at the very least was working on the machine. I talked with him for a while and he seems like a very cool guy. Told me the only reason they didn't have the V cabs working for so long was because it actually took him that long to manage to replace the components that had been stolen. He also mentioned he had intended to upgrade to V4 or V5 before he found out that the V cabinets would only go to V3.

Anyway, he spent a while fixing the hihat, and did some work on the snare as well. I got the privilege of testing the machine, and everything felt considerably better. No real issues on the hihat at all. The snare you still have to hit a little harder than you should, but it's nowhere near as bad as it was before.

Regarding the toasted V3 board, it is apparently being sent out to be repaired and WILL BE BACK. For the time being the dm cab is running V again. A little annoyed that I can't play Sekai wa Sore wo Ai to Yobundaze anymore But hey, V is kind of a trip down memory lane at this point.

So yeah. The guy I talked to seemed very into working with the machines. Kept saying that he really liked having stuff running and helping out the community, doing it for the people that really cared about the games. He also complimented me on my playing after I passed Purple Storm :P

I was disappointed that I couldnt find Party Hard in Drummania V3, but in all honesty I'd rather have V3 than just plain old V. I'm just grateful that Pete's finally has a working Drummania machine after 1.5 years of V being broken.

BTW, there's a DDR Club that meets up at Pinball Pete's on Friday nights at 8pm. We're usually playing all of the Bemani games, Drummania especially has become the highlight. I'd love to meet anyone who decides to show up, come talk to me if you see me. I'm the dude with the black mohawk who's playing Bemani games.

Party Hard I think was dropped at V3.

I might try to swing by in a few weeks, I'll post up when I do.

Kind of want to swing by the arcade in Troy (?) with V5...

What type of fighting games do they have here? I haven't been up to Pete's in a while. A friend of mine is looking for the nearest Blazblue cab. He lives in North West Ohio.

The fighting scene at Pete's isn't great honestly. They have some Tekken5 cabs in great condition, though I personally hate Tekken. I believe there's a well maintained Soul Calibur 3...again, not a huge fan.

Last time I tried to play MvC2 there were serious issues with the sticks, CvS2 seems to be working fine, SF3S is there but isn't always turned on. They used to have Garou in a neogeo 4game cab, along with Samurai Spirits 4...I think it might still be there. That about does it for fighters.

One machine of note that they obtained sorta recently is Border Down. One of my favorite shooters, I couldn't believe my eyes when I first saw it there. I need to get cracking on it again, post some better high scores. Ever since DM came back it's pretty much all I've been playing there :P

The AFC up in Troy that has V5 session has a bunch of SF4 cabs and I think some Tekken 6, with a MvC2 in good condition. I know they were thinking about getting BlazBlue a while back, but I have a feeling V5 may have taken its place. Personally i have no problem with that, I can play BB all I want at home on stick and this is friggin V5. But yeah, might be a possibility in the future if they're doing well, honestly they seem to do a fair amount of business up there.

I have not been able to play much in the past months (most of this summer really) but I do get some pbp playing in every now and then. Now that they fixed GF&DM, all they need to do is get that ITG machine running again....most likely in three years.
