Default Chicago arcade minus one

...I think most people know about this, but just in case, here it is.

The Namco Cyberstation Arcade in the Harlem-Irving Mall (A.K.A. "the HIP") is now closed. Seems like they can't stop taking arcades away from us.

As the Chicago arcade scene (even though it's considered a hub) gets crappier...ah.

Well, management told me that namco arcades are closing down everywhere due to one reason which I'll put into scenario form: (we'll use tekken 5 for example)

- Tekken 5 comes out on arcade and has teh ability to use home console controllers
- People play it non stop cause its awesome
- Game comes out for home console
- Now everyone can play it at home, meaning that sales in the arcade is now down alot

Basically, that means that Namco home console games always makes more money than the arcades do. This is kinda one of the reasons why Tekken 5 DR was brought on psp regardless the fact not many have a psp and you have to have a ps3 if you want to download it. If you can't do that, then you have no choice but to play it only in the arcade. Also not many will play it on ps3 because no arcade controllers have been made for it yet (just now making them) and the ps3 controllers are REALLY bad when it comes to playing fighting games that involve the diagonal to be used frequently. Dragon motions and quarter circle forward motions are rather difficult with them as well for example. Plus I don't think anyone wants to have to buy an adapter to use ps2 dual analog or arcade style controllers for every one person that wants to play a fighting game competitively thats new.
