GW Chicago needs an update when they get, like, a new WORTHWHILE game.
Dammit, they need to get Idolm@ster. I'd blow all my damn credits on that game. Sango 1.1 is getting old. | well APPARENTLY they said they fixed them (The ITG pads), which was definitely a lie because the pads always act that way.
Also I kind of like HotD4 SP, I have not beaten the last boss yet, but compared to the other HotD games, yes, its very easy.
Also I would love Idolm@ster. I would feel like a huge nerd playing it, but dammit I love the xbox 360 game.
Oh, and I had some fun when I went this last time. YouTube - Payback! TV-B-Gone at Gameworks in schaumburg IL.
I wont be doing it again though. Since everything was breaking I got bored. Maximum Tune was also broken, which is another game I play a lot. Plus I forgot my Sangokushi Taisen cards when I was walking out the door, so I get pretty bored playing a DDR EXTREME machine with a pretty bad monitor after a few hours.
And I also got black flagged on Freckles. YouTube - ???? Freckles AA One Great on Dance Dance Revolution EXTREME (arcade)
Love Shine and Hysteria were the only songs I ended up AAAing while I was there.

Plus the game looks FUGLY on the Chihiro hardware.

Plus the game looks FUGLY on the Chihiro hardware. | I can agree with that. I am guessing most of the Idolm@ster game, but I still find it fun to play. However that version will definitely not appeal to U.S. gamers at all, even if it got a dubbed, or subtitled version (I guess you would need subtitles no matter what).
I can see Live For You! Getting at least some appreciation and gameplay though because its very straightforward. However the song list is... well... very small.
Out of the two, I would still prefer Idolm@ster over Live For You!

I paid for Shiny Smile, three Remix A's, and said fcuk it, I'm not getting accomplishments and it's too expensive...doesn't help Japanese XBL points cost more than it does in America to begin with.
If you want Remix A of those songs, it's like $3, Remix B of all the songs are another $3-5. Damn game is EXPENSIVE.
But yeah I dunno, the other problem with Idolm@ster is that if you actually want to be SUCCESSFUL in the game (i.e. get the best ending with S or A rank), it helps immensely to have the perfect communication, which unless you guess correctly, you need to really know Japanese and how to talk to your idol. That stuff doesn't really fly particularly well in America unless they just want try it anyway. It's not as rewarding though.

I got a couple of those for free because I got the limited edition. But ya... The DLC is extremely expensive, and not worth it at all.

Marketplace Rating: 2 | I am going on Saturday. I was not planning on going, but now that my iphone has broke, and I need to go to Woodfield anyways, I though I might as well go to Gameworks. I am also going to see if I can snag my friends hard... that has over 1500 credits on it.
I am pretty sure Gameworks will upgrade to X too. Many arcades dont upgrade to the next game, but will skip a upgrade to save money. Although thats not Gameworks style, having an outdated DDR machine=Less money from the fans that will pump the money into the machine.
If anyone is going to be there Saturday, dont be afraid to come up to me and say your from bemanistyle, since I dont seem to know who you guys are very well (except Swors-K, and Jeff). lol
EDIT: Nevermind, I fixed my phone, so I wont be going now.

Marketplace Rating: 2 | Got some good news guys. From what I hear DDR X is supposed to show up at Gameworks in about 2~3, and its the new dedicab. I am going to call tomorrow to confirm when its arriving, as well as if they are planning on using e-amuse (I am sure they are, they have wifi, and I am almost certain its compatible).
Also arriving soon is Street Fighter IV, we were supposed to get ours shortly after Vegas got their, and Vegas just got their machines in recently.
Also if no one knew Maximum Tune 3 showed up, its pretty awesome. Some other shooter game showed up too, but I have yet to play it. Its upstairs by Sangokushi Taisen.
ITG was also fixed... But its already gone back to hell in a matter of days.

SFIV is useless IMO, it's old and has been old on consoles for...how long now? I can't see it doing as well as they think it will.
Tekken 6 also is coming supposedly, kinda sucks though if they don't get Bloodline Rebellion.
Fcuk the Hummer game though, so worthless hyping a game up that...well who cares, it's going to get played by random people anyway. Wasting money on 4 cabinets of SR3? Why?
I swear, for a flagship store, they can be so dumb.

Marketplace Rating: 2 | I can see Street Fighter getting some plays, but definitely not Tekken. I have not seen one person touch those machines ever since I started going there.
I wish they would try bringing some more Japanese games over. I mean look at Songokushi Taisen, that game never stops being played, and its gotten a fanbase, I bet if they brought over more games with an interesting concept like that over here they would be rakin in the dough. But thats just my opinion.

Tekken 6 would have the advantage that it's not on consoles yet, whereas SF4 would not. It'll get played, no doubt...but not to the degree that Gameworks thinks will be worth it.
Arcades in Japan are far too lucrative and niche that it would bomb in America. Some would be cool as hell to have, but most of the popular ones IMO wouldn't really survive well here.

I know many games would flop here, like dating games and strange 2d/3d Shooters, but it would be nice still if they would take a risk every once in a while on bring stuff over. I only see games from other regions being played constantly, as long as their easy to follow/understand, and are something people have never seen before.
