I am referring to a community in Muncie specifically due to the fact that IndyDDR is already there for a statewide community. One reason for this is that alot of the players that I know do drink so some of the events would have some good olde booze.

So there needs to be a broader community of of-age players... because most of the players you know are of-age...

I'm confused. It's time for me to go to bed, isn't it?

Probably. Let's just sum things up with we are aiming for a college age group on this one.

Sounds sensible... most of the people willing to drive a couple of hours for a tournament are in that age range, anyway.

I'm sorely tempted to float a poll about it on IndyDDR now. "How old are you and how far would you drive to a tournament? These two questions are not unrelated."

True on this one. It would probably require 2 separate polls though.

Sorry, I couldn't resist, that image seemed too appropriate.

Anyway, I went and posted a poll asking people how far they'd drive to a tournament. No responses yet. STAY TUNED!

Thanks, it's one of my favorites.

So MonMotha is whining about the prospect of using CS DDR/PIU/ITG mixes when we could go to an arcade and talk them into letting us use their dancing game equipment for arcade DDR/PIU/ITG tournaments. Do you know if there are any arcades with decent equipment in Muncie? My impression is no, and certainly I know there aren't any with all three machines - that honor will soon go to GXS of Bloomington, which just hosted the DDR-A-Thon, so why would we host something there, dammit?

Erm, never mind. Arcades in Muncie?

Well, the major problem with this is obviously the only tournament we could do would be PIU as we got a Prex 3 machine, but given the fact that comparing that to all the newer releases are like night and day I doubt that would fly. I find it a very bad thing when my house is pretty much Bemani Central for the general area!

Joy. There's a place in Terre Haute with a decent PIU: Zero, but it wouldn't be my first choice for holding a tourney.

I suppose the dancing games could be foregone altogether, but it would kill a lot of the social atmosphere.

Oh, would that I had the space and financial resources (not to mention technical wherewithal) for a few arcade machines.

Oh, well I know nothing about Terre Haute so I won't mess with that.

Agreed on the arcade machines!

Ooh, happy post 666.

The other thing about Terre Haute is that it's way out at the south end of the state. Ditto Bloomington.

Muncie is a much more central location. So's Indy, for that matter. Hmm...

Thanks. Muncie is not really a central location as it's only a county away from Ohio. In the meantime, I started playing IIDX again and will most likely do a new Expert Vid soon sometime before Friday.

It's more central than Terre Haute... it's N-S central, if not E-W central.

Yay for the new Tatsujin! It's nice for us newbies to have something to shoot for.

Now where's my handgun?

true, I still find that Muncie is still pretty far out there for most Bemani players in the state.

I already had Insurgents try that and fail miserably, so what makes you think you can do any better than they did?
