Congrats, Brazo. I personally always hated that song until just a month or so ago when I finally started to understand the sound of it (yeah, sounds dumb, but it was nothing but noise to me until recently) and I enjoy the last quarter of the song and it's patterns. It's also one of the few songs that I think is easier on EXT A/B than on ADV A/B (but only for the first half of the song). I think Mikeneko Rock is actually easier to follow on EXT than on ADV, bass or no bass.

My bass skill has improved signicantly, but I'm still failing certain patterns involving the left side's pads. Certain songs like Concertino in Blue ADV aren't that bad, but stick me with something like Tail Spin and it all goes downhill. :P On the other hand, getting the alternating bass patterns when combined with hi-hat and snare are simple to me now, yet it becomes a whole new ballpark when I have to do the same thing with the cymbal instead of hi-hat. Any pointers?

I think I personally am too much in the mentality of "the bass will always hit in tandem with another note", which is dumb but I can't get my foot and arms to move much more independently than, say, the alternating bass with hh, snare, bass. It's gonna take a lot of practice to get anywhere else with that. :P

Just read up on all the cool unlocks that V3 is getting. Makes me angry at Konami for not being a little more lenient on what songs we get. Model FT2 and apxn both sound nice. If they ever have a true Asaki song as an Encore (or a Lv. 100) on V3, I'll die.

Someone should suggest them getting rid of 7th and getting something like pump. Pump is so fucking fun.

I second that haha. Pump Exceed, Exceed 2, or Zero (could always upgrade an old mix anyways) would be so much nicer to have than max2

Mod: Why get PiU when you can play it at Tilt? I think if anything the money from getting rid of 7th could go towards getting PnM or some upgrades... The only thing PiU has going for it as far as management might be concerned is it's relatively cheap compared to other music games and the upgrades aren't too badly priced (on ChannelBeat, that is; I don't know about elsewhere).

... Oooooohh... speaking of which, I talked to Chad (part owner) about the PnM thing and here's what I understand:

Pop'n is THE #1 asked for game that we do not have. The reason we don't have one already? They cost so freaking much for what they are, plus they cost on upkeep (imagine all of the slappy impact damage done on one of those things, especially an older model), so it's been put on the back burners for the last, oh, six years or so (don't quote me on that, but I think that's the figure he gave me). However, FFC hasn't gotten a new container of games in for about a year and a half now, so there should be one comming up for this next busy season, by my speculation (again, my thoughts on that). Chad DID say that PnM was definitely in the running for something we might get in that container, so keep up the interest in it and hopefully we'll see it (even if it is an older model) crawl onto the floor sometime before next summer. *crosses fingers*

Things you can help do to maybe encourage the purchase of PnM:

1. Publicize, make people want it. Obviously, you guys have been doing an awesome job on this already, but more never hurt. :P

2. Keep an eye out for cheap machines going up online. Even importing the machine is reasonable (Chad mentioned they used to get things from Manjiro, so pulling 'em from Japan isn't unheard of), so keep an eye out for a well-priced machine, preferrably 9th Mix or higher (I think that's when the hardware changed). Anything under 8th Mix is discouraged because of hardware limitations; if we end up with one of those, don't ever expect an upgrade. :P Also, I think it's 9th-11th mix that have some weird Japanese questionnaire for making your songlists, so I would recommend against those unless someone would be willing to try every combination of questions and print out what songlists you end up with. (-. - !!)

Personally, I'd like to see Pop'n 12th, DM/GF V2, and DDR:SN, as I think that's a realistic selection of upgrades/additions for us to have within the next two years or so.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

but I agree, pop'n is a much bigger priority

try e-mailing them. we could also try Yahoo Auctions Japan (YAJ) through Rinkya or through someone in Japan shipping it to us (I might be able to get someone, but Rinyka is probably much easier).

Unfortunately, Rinkya will not ship Video Game cabinets. It's in their policy.

Do we have any contacts in Japan as far as distribution? I think TGA gets their stuff sent in from a guy in Japan, right? Am I just crazy? Also, what's wrong with the Pump in Tilt? Given it's seen better days, but I mean, would you really want to sacrifice FFC money on another one?

I looked at that Pop'n Animelo machine... what sets Animelo apart from the rest of the series, just the type of music or is it a gameplay issue? Either way, it runs on old hardware, so there would be no easy way of getting upgrades on it. Thanks for the keeping an eye out, though.

I've never used YAJ, but I've heard pretty good things about it. I'll look into it. I'm sure it's pretty hit-or-miss as far as what goes up, but it's always worth a shot.

Geh, Rinkya is too hard to use at this hour... X(

EDIT: DualEdge- Thanks for saving me the time. I would have rotted my eyes out staring at indecypherable characters trying to figure out what the heck was and wasn't working there. :P

um, only Japanese residents can bid on stuff on YAJ.

I do know someone in Japan, but I'm not entirely sure he'd be willing to ship something that big for me. I'll have to talk to him.

Animelo is gay.

Because it's a crappy mix and a totally shitty cab. It's barely playable. The Pump Zero at D&B is ok, but it'd be nice having one at FFC with good pads (hah) and with the other games.
