Total Tokens: 13,858.79 Donate Tokens | Razor: This isn't anything I didn't expect. The fact is that no matter how many times you might tell the staff that something is broken, 95% of the time it's never going to get fixed until it gets written down on a list in the back. Hence, person you complain to doesn't write it down, no fixed game. You can guarantee that every time Bemani broke down I either fixed it myself or wrote it down that day (not to say that it definitely got fixed that day, though). Now that I'm canned, I doubt the same attention is being put forward.
But hey, what does it matter? I'm just a customer now. Not like my opinion counts anymore, amirite?
EDIT: We should probably start planning the basic outline of next years MMS. I'm talking to a few people now who might just host an MMS site for free, no ads or anything (friends of mine, so I don't think we'd get a raw deal). Any opinions or suggestions?

Total Tokens: 13,858.79 Donate Tokens | I talked to Chad about a Christmas time meet and he said it would be fine if we did it. Also, I think the price of GFV3 kits on Yahoo! Japan are getting low enough to consider grabbing one, definitely. We should talk to Tony and Chad about it seeing as they're dirt cheap now that V4 officially runs on new hardware.
Mixed blessing, I guess. We probably won't see anything above V3 at FFC for another three or four years, but at least we can score a cheap GFV3.

IIDX has this horrible tiny monitor, DM 7's hithat was broken, DMV3 was on but the monitor was blank, both of them had these crappy little falling apart stools that were way too high and unadjustable, and pop'n's 2nd button was missing a lot.
This is just a big coincidence that all this is happening at once, right? RIGHT?

A decent part of it is that the owners don't maintain things without players constantly reminding them. I haven't felt too big of a need to head in lately so things have fallen into disrepair. I'll see if I can get in on Monday (the owners and technician are never in on the weekends; they're usually in Monday-Friday 10-4 or so) and try to get some things fixed up.
DM V3 monitor is out and needs to be replaced, but we can probably pull the monitor out of DM 7th and switch it. The sensor for the hi-hat on DM 7th should be cheap to fix (we can get one out of a toy at Toys 'R Us for <$10 or so) assuming that's the only issue with it. DDR Extreme pads are in mediocre shape and also not attached, which Tyler (the tech) or I can probably fix (if I can find screws that'll hold it). Pop'n buttons hopefully just need to be removed and cleaned, otherwise we should have a few extra switches in the back. It's largely sort of a "it keeps in shape if I care about going in to play on it" state, because I'm not paid at all by FFC to maintain things and I don't usually care enough about it.

Well, since everyone's doing introductions, I'll do the same.
How do you do? Mills works fine for me. Welcome to the scene.
You won't see me around too much because all I play is Pump(read: all I'm partially good at is Pump hahaha).
Hope things get knocked back into shape soon. It's too bad that FFC's crumbling like so; it used to be a hotspot in the midwest.

Total Tokens: 13,858.79 Donate Tokens | Nice to meet another DM enthusiast. You can call me Jinx.
I used to be one of the two FFC workers who worked to keep the Bemani going strong. Got fired last month, so I don't stop in too often now, but I digress...
The DMV3 has a new monitor on order. I've already suggested to them to switch the two DM monitors, but it wasn't met with a positive reaction. They're pretty apathetic about it for the time being, which is really rediculous considering it's a brand new game (we've had it working for less than three weeks?). The piezos for the DM sensors have turned up with Tyler; he claims he found a couple the other day while cleaning up his shop, so we don't need to worry too much about buying a few more yet.
If they let me, I can check the Pop'n button today. I have no real plans for this whole week, as I'm waiting for orientation at my next job.
Anyway, it's good to see we'll have another strong proponent of the scene here now. Maybe you should stop in today and meet us? Oh, and a description of what you look like will help us find you better. Quote: |
