Wow, seems like we have much of the DM regular crew on this board. Now we need the tall bespectacled guy who brings his own stool and we can call it a full team.

Speaking of which, are any of the other FFC DM regulars on this board?

On an unrelated note, I got fished good at Initial D the other night. I've officially lost all self-worth when it comes to that game.

JUUUUSSSTT for clarification (as I'm horrible with names and faces), lemme see if I can identify Brazo, AA, and Modarius:

Brazoliange: Saw your picture. 'Nuff said.

AA: Hmmm... no clue about you... (-. - !!). Wouldn't surprise me if I haven't really met you, though; I met someone the other day on the DM who said he shows up every Wednesday and I'd never seen him before. :P

Modarius: Goatee/beard-in-training (not pokin' fun, as I can't grow facial hair to save myself; I just remember it wasn't, like, rabbi huge), always with a hat, hangs out with a shorter darker guy who plays DM, too.

If I'm wrong on anyone, correct me.

- - - - - - -

I'm officially on a quest now. As I doubt they'll be willing to upgrade either DM any further, I have a goal to at least see someone get to play Onihime in person. I'd rather be able to get there myself, but between my lack of uberskills and the already questionably-sensitive pads, I fear I might not be able to get there. If anyone would like to help me in this endeavor, please let me know and maybe we can practice a bit, exchange tips, etc...

If that's what you pass CiB EXT with, then you have my admiration, though it's probably not healthy to use such heavy sticks on the already-weak pads.
it was my Dad and his girlfriend, yeah.

meh, I'm not going to use really light sticks that don't register and thus fail songs as a result =p. though they are a bit heavy for faster stuff or crossovery stuff.

You don't really fail songs with the light sticks, you just have to have better finger control and know just how hard to throw them. Some might argue that it takes more effort to throw down light sticks, but if you can use the rebound efficiently, then there isn't any wasted energy. Between my wrapped Dave Weckl sticks and my new 7A, I like the lightweight feel of the 7As now. I suppose there is a TOO light, but I haven't found that yet.

Hahaha, yeah. You know who I am. My facial hair is just like...I don't shave often, but keep my chin hair. It's kinda weird. I can try and whore out orbital whatever basic and try to get onihime. I'm not sure how well that would work out, though. It looked like it has a bunch of weird placed bass hits..which I'm totally awful at . I'll give it a couple tries next time I go, though. And the shorter kid that plays dm too that got to the very end of rolling 1000 toon is eldiablo3005. I'm not sure if he still posts here, I don't check this site too often.

The guy my friend talked to had lots of hair, both on his face and his head. And it was curly too. Either way, I don't play DM that often, mostly DDR and GF. I know I saw Brazoliange and he was talking to a couple people, who I'm assuming were some of you guys.

I did go every Wednesday, but during the day (usually around 10 am to 1 pm). Now that school has started back up again though, I'll probably be making more nightly trips. I'll definitely say hi if I think I know one of you, but since Brazoliange posted his pic already, I'll spot him the easiest, lol.

The best I can manage on Orbital Velocity is 91% Perfect. I think it's almost impossible for me to get much higher on that song at this point. :'( I should really start to practice more on my timing for those perfects, but I can't think of an easy way to do it. Perhaps the difficulty is set higher than the default, making the timing window narrower?

Beat Cockpit, Out of Control, Model DD3 on Extreme and S'ed Toccata the other night. Not too many songs left that I can't at least complete (that stupid trancy traditional Japanese song is an exception. I HATE IT!) on the 10th mix. I still need Tamayura EXT beat before I even attempt TL100S. I won't die disappointed if never end up beating that rediculous song, though.

I don't think the timing is narrower =p you're just not good enough at timing.

and uhh tl100s is exponentially harder than tamayura.

I don't see myself getting 95% on orbital velocity. I don't remember how it went, though. I did get 97% perfect on a 41, though. But it was lovely merry go round advanced. Definitely doesn't count as a 41, haha.

Brazo: Of course TL100S is exponentially harder, but I'm running out of songs to beat. Hopping over to the 7th mix will give me, what, O Jiya and Day Dream, slightly less and much more rediculous respectively. I simply mentioned Tamayura because it was the only other high 90 I could think of that I hadn't beaten yet.

I definitely believe that the timing windows vary subjectively. Some songs will have incredibly long windows and some seem to have almost no positive window. If I'm not completely mistaken, I thought that Drummania machines (along with most, if not all Bemani machines) had internal difficulty adjustments; as you can't really add/subtract notes or change the real speed of the song itself, the only thing adjustable for difficulty at that point would be the timing window, yes?

I'm not saying that the DM difficulty has been turned up too high or even notched up at all. I simply pose that it's a possible plausible reason why Encore Stage seems so insanely difficult even on OV Basic on that 10th Mix.

herring roe is on dm 7th too
and akai suzu if you didn't play that on 10th yet, but that's not really hard.

I really don't get what you're saying at all in the 2nd paragraph. haha.

eh, I don't really notice a difference extra stage. timing just takes work due to the condition of the snare and toms.

Hate to derail your conversation here but I was talking to one of the Italian IIDX players and he says he knows someone that wants to sell an unlocked DistorteD kit. I don't know how well you guys are getting along with the FFC people nowadays but I thought I would just toss that out for you guys to suggest to them.

Akai suzu is an easy win, usually an S. I don't think I've given Herring Roe a shot in awhile but I'll make sure to try it soon if the machine wants to work; the low tom and snare on that are sucktastic.

Right now I'm stuck on Children's Sketchbook, but I love it, so it's all good. It's so similar in rhythm to Timepiece Phase II in the latter half.

Speaking of faulty games... it seems like more and more games are ending up with unresolved technical issues. Wangan Midnight's P1 side, both sides of Initial D, the loose hi-hat (which now ceases to function sometimes) on DM10, and the P2 side of ITG (well, I personally don't complain about that one... too noisy as it is) are all dysfunctional at best, but mostly unplayable. I understand that it would probably cost much time and labor to get them all functional, but what good are the games to them if no one can play them? Just my two cents on that.

I filled out a job application with them, so if I manage to get hired there, I'll be doing what I can to learn the functions and mechanics of the cabinets so that I might be able to repair what I can.

We probably won't see an upgrade for a long time..if ever. Mark (dualedge) basically did everything for the bemani area and he doesn't work there anymore. So I'm not sure how well we'd be able to talk to them about upgrading games. And we just got happy sky not too long ago, so I really doubt it. =/

I really do want to play distorted, though.

That was my thinking as far as dualedge not working there anymore plus FFC being like most businesses: cheap. Oh well.
