Quite the lively place we got here....

Anywho, thought I would throw out a couple things that have been on my mind to get people's thoughts and opinions -

I am looking at the possibility of getting a couple machines for my anime/gaming store and for the convention that I put on (OtakuOmaha) but really as all of you guys know - these things are not cheap toys by any means. After talking to Jinx and seeing how TGA used the sales of waterbottles as a way to raise funds for their activities I just gotta wonder if we could do the same thing with our own custom designs on them to raise funds for the cause.

Would there be any interest in something like this.

Also - As I mentioned I'm promoting an anime convention this coming 4th of July weekend here in Omaha. (actually Council Bluffs - its at the Mid America Center) I am currently looking for a couple people to help us throw together some tournaments and staff our video gaming department. PM me if you would be interested in helping out.

That's a perfect attitude in life... so why not fix things? Seriously. There are positives in life too.

The thing is, from what I know the local community was never that big in the first place, and a lot of people have moved on to other stuff or moved away.

Then you have the people like me who went there every two or three weeks last summer while it was still fun to go (and before a lot of drama happened).

theres really not that much drama. it's just that no one really likes each other very much. community disappeared after one token wednesdays were taken away. to be honest if there was a music game gatherings still around i might drop by, but the community is basically nonexistent. and jjr you're more than welcome to try and reunite the community. i mean big props if you could pull that off, but there aren't very many people that play these games anymore. plus the only game i still actually play is iidx and i'm basically the only one that plays in this state.

I actually think that one token Wednesdays "killed" bemani at FFC.

The concept itself was simple and it worked - but it lasted way too long and obviously fans felt that price should be the standard where it ultimately killed funds for upgrades and such. (trust me, I see both sides - both as a business owner and as a fan)

In my eyes - the arcade operator needs to keep things in fair shape, keep thing semi current and to be honest to its fans. (I love FFC's DDR cabinet pictured on their website lolz)

I can't promise that all games I get would be 1 token. I can't promise that that there wouldn't be fucktwits who annoy the living hit out of the rest of the community. I can just promise that things will be reasonably priced, in reasonable shape and that I will listen to whatever people have to say. (not saying that I will agree with you of course)

I am planning to invest several thousand dollars of my own funds into trying to make something work for people. My goal is to reinvest what I make from this venture into newer mixes and more machines and upkeep of existing machines as all I want to see is people have a good time once again.

As I mentioned earlier - the convention... if people want to put aside this "OMGFailLOLZ" attitude and help me get a few good tournaments running and make the game room better than most arcades are in this region please contact me. Its obvious that we like these games... otherwise why the fuck would we be on an internet message board that focuses on them? Just saying that thinking positive and making something happen is far more productive as a group as a whole.

^-- I'm Jinx and I support this message. --^

Also, is anyone still interested in 5-key? Oh, and who else still regularly plays? Me, Braz, Mod, Alex(maybe? I hasn't seen you in forevahs, brah), Death (not really here, but we'll count you), JJR, APD(?) and..?

another thing is that ffc never fixes shit. I tried playing popn the other day and the 4 button didn't even respond. iidx's tv suck major dick and it has this amazing lag and the notes reappear in a different spot, plus the one key gets stuck too. itg's pads were still pretty shitty, but not as bad as i had expected (probably because no one goes to ffc anymore [not just the bemani nigs])

ps this is alex. also the game i only play now is iidx. (finally broke through the shitty 11 wall at least i have 2 12*. well one of them doesn't count because it's ristaccia) if there was an itg dedicab in omaha, i would play that.

DOUBLE EDIT: after i played popn, i could smell WD-40 on my hands. i could tell they sprayed the shit out of the buttons. honestly, they didn't feel fixed or even right for that matter. it was almost awkward to play.

if there was a good iidx machine here, i would probably play it if it was the newest because there really isn't any point of playing if the cs style is out.

also if you haven't noticed moda has been posting on my account since he's banned LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLO LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

i dont see why anyone could possibly be interested in 5key. not to be a dick, but seriously. it's like telling people you got a DDR USA machine <_<.
but i would be interested in seeing a new place for bemani or if people actually got people back together. the tech guy at coco key's is really nice and takes pride in the DDR machine. I could try and convince him to have some kind of DDR day, club or what the hell ever if people were interested. lewl

jon said this lol
oh and jon says if you have a iidx tourney at your con thing he might go. if people enter. lol

Yeah, I'm still really interested in a 5k machine (obviously preferably BM The Final). BMIII would be pretty sweet too. Either way providing it wasn't an early mix I'd come pump some money into it.

Depending on availability I was looking at the listing my58vw had put up a few months ago with a good number of mixes and work our way up to Final.

Granted my goal is to find a machine that the most people can enjoy and that we'd likely see the most traffic on as so we can get more stuff moving in for everyone to enjoy. If anyone can get a good deal hooked up that is better for everyone that can ship early Feb for the same $3500 I have budgeted I'm all ears. (if we are talking higher than that I will have to delay the purchase as obviously gotta make funds to spend funds)

eldiablo3005 - I'm not FFC. I'm also not CoCo Keys. I saw the package for 5 key BM and thought I'd throw the offer out to see if there was a desire to give it some play. If there isn't as I said above - I am happy to take a look at any options that work within the budget.

All I can say for Pop - it will be fixed sooner than later. Hopefully with new buttons and switches.

Right now I don't have anyone to run any Bemani tournaments other than a basic DDR one. So basically unless someone steps up and makes one happen it won't happen.

Its over at the Mid America Center so we definitely have a few square feet to work with.
