Sep 4th AM. Fate of the BGSU game room.
Topic of discussion "Mark is no longer the game room arcade machine provider"

2 possible outcomes:
1) BGSU decides to no longer have a game room
or
2) I become the provider of games in the game room.

Gah! That's scary to think they'll close the gameroom. Is there anything we can do, as people who come down to BGSU to play there?

I think the real question is why hasn't mark told them what he is really doing. All it is doing is creating a huge gap in communication. Its completely unprofessional and if I do remember correctly, it is apart of his contract to have DDR in place; and its going on the third day of class and its still not back from him "upgrading" it. Yes, Keaton and I are more then happy to deal with mark leaving and take over, I have discussed doing so many times with him face to face and we both are basically stuck unable to do anything until either mark pulls out, or the university kicks him out. I do believe that regardless of what he does at this point his fate and ours will be decided at this meeting. I only wish he could have gone about this in a more honest or professional manor then just straight up pulling the only profitable machine that actually works other then Soulcal2, which is played by two people, and then acting like he plans on making some miracle turnaround with tons more machines.

TL;DR version:
Why the fuck did mark lie to both gameroom staff members about what he was doing? Its kind of fucking up us actually doing something worth while.

When I was bored I was stumbling around the Student Union's website trying to find out exact hours for one of my friends from Kentucky, I noticed that they actually used images from the game room, as well as the game room description (albiet a bit outdated) to help the entertainment aspects of the building.

Not a time goes by that I was playing IIDX and random people would come and arrow stomp, and I'm sure the Union's administration knows how much of an impact this has with the entertainment value of the Union itself. As long as Keaton has provided a decent argument and a new/(obviously) better option, I doubt that they'll actually get rid of the game room itself.

News:
-I'm indeed taking over under a 1 year contract.
-Contract will not be made until Mark's machines are out.
-We will be moving in the first saturday I have available after I get the contract signed.
-We will add pop'n, ddr, guitar freaks, para para paradise
-games will all be $0.50/play cept for iidx which will stay $0.75
-if the game room does not make enough money they may not continue my contract and we will be left with another starbucks or something.

I need to know what to buy next!
I'm thinking Drummania or some fighter games.

As much as I would loooooove to see a DM AND IIDX machine about 400 meters from me in there, the logical choice would be to have some other games too (like you said fighters, they seems to be good money makers).

However, with that said, music games do bring in a lot of money as well. I guess I'd say look at the monthly take for the Bemani games that you're bringing in soon and see if what they are making here is a viable profit. The university is in bad shape budget-wise, and they'd do anything right now to pick up a few extra bucks.

If you are thinking a fighter, make sure it's well maintaned (or atleast playable). I don't expect to see SF4 or BlazBlue, but something like Mvc2 or SF3: Third Strike might go over well?

That's really great news.

As for what to get next, something profitable. With your collection of stuff from Findlay the Bemani front'll be covered for a good while so making sure the place is picking up a profit is the first priority.

EDIT: Oh right, what's all there right now then?

Because I'd like to come up and play them one last time before you move them out (and before I have to drive farther :<)

In any case it's good to hear the games are heading somewhere where they'll get played instead of at Findlay where I'm the only person who apparently cares. :f

DM would be nice, but I'd think it would be wise to get a decent fighter game first. Maybe invest in a candy cab or two. Our music game division is covered well and you will need to target the other crowd of people who don't even look at the music games and go straight for the ultracade or solcal. I don't think DM will rack in much money since it will attract the same people who would of instead thrown a quarter into Pop'n or IIDX. Not that I wouldn't like one down the road
