But anyway - first place, and with some tiny exceptions here and there (Tampa Bay series, the 19 innings game, Ortiz not winning the Home Run Derby)... it's looking good.
Matt Clement started getting bad at the all-star break last year... maybe after a year of being awful, he'll start pitching well now? Actually, I don't even know whether he's injured.
A Texas Rangers player won the All-Star Game for the AL again, like Hank Blalock did in 2004. Let's hope Michael Young won it for the Sox

I mean, our pitching staff could really use some relievers, and with the trade deadline coming up, we need to get them quick.
And as an aside, I still laugh at Clemens for not becoming a Sox player again to close his career. Fenway would recieve him like a king, lol.

I'm surprised that as many trades as happened did happen because there are a LOT of teams in the race this year, especially in both West divisions and in the NL wild card race.
Overall I'd say don't worry too much. Our offense is really stellar, and Alex Gonzalez has proven that he's not just on fire. Haha. The bat is here to stay.

Nixon's on the DL; it's not a surprise he managed to get injured based on his past history.
Okay right now though we have a problem. I can't keep track of the pitching rotation anymore. It's like Schilling, Beckett, the father-son superhero duo of Wells and Snyder, Lester, and Jason Johnson or Goddard or Wakefield (injured I guess) or (God forbid) Dinardo or yeaaah.
Also what's up with failing to score the usual 10 runs against Sabathia? Oh yeah the umpire (calling out Youkilis at home). Well I'll admit Youkilis isn't the fastest guy in the world, but still.

We don't have a pitching 'rotation'. We have a pitching 'OMGWENEEDGOODPPL'.
Youkilis isn't fast by any stretch.

The only part of the Sox game I'm worried about right now is the rotation. Jason Johnson needs to go - I'd actually rather have Kyle Snyder in there. Can't wait until Wakefield gets back, if he ever does.
The rest of it - Schilling, Beckett, Lester, Wells - is good enough. Wells is liveable and everyone else is pretty good (despite what Lester's WHIP will tell you).

Jason Johnson is having a repeat of his first year in the big leagues where he went like 0-9 for the Orioles. That's not a good thing and he does need to go.
And I still don't really like Wells at all, though he does win a few.
Ugh, being a game back.
Hey, Bellhorn and Walker both on the Padres... playing third base. They have a choice between someone hitting .198 and someone who hasn't had third base experience for nine years. I miss "Belly" but I'm the only Bellhorn fan left standing in Red Sox Nation anyway... which means how much he sucks this season (yes, he's managed to suck more than he did last season and that does include his strikeout rate) really hurts.
