IIDX Tournament @ Hawaiian Brians

What: Beatmania IIDX tournament
When: Sept. 2
Where: Hawaiian Brians
What Time: 4:00pm

Entry Fee: 5.00 (Pay at front desk)

Prizes: (based on 20 entries)

1st place: 100.00
2nd place: 50.00
3rd place: 25.00

The tournament will be held on a IIDX Happy Sky machine (screen has no lag issues).

The amount of rounds will be determined based on the amount of people.
Each round consist of 3 songs, the total score of all songs will be taken by EX score.
Person with the highest total EX score at the end of all the rounds is the winner.

Rounds will increase in difficulty:

Round 1: Level 6-8
Round 2: Level 9-10 (mid/low level 10's)
Round 3: Level 10-11 (mid/hard level 10's, mid/low level 11's)
Round 4: Level 10-12 (hard 10's, All 11's, All 12's)
Round 5 and above: Level 11-12 (All 11's, All 12's)

Rules/Things you should know:

1. There will be no eliminations unless you dont show when its your turn.
2. Easy mode will not be allowed.
3. Auto scratch will not be allowed.
4. No 5 key.
5. Hard mode is allowed, if you fail thats the score you get.
6. No S-random.
7. Passing/Failing does not matter (unless you play hard mode).
8. Sudden+/Hidden+ will be allowed.
9. No taunting, shadowing the player, getting to close. (give the player some space)
10. Judge mode is allowed.
11. You will get 2 mulligans throughout the whole tournament. You may replay any song, but only twice.

Song Selecting:

For those questioning the process of selecting the songs, this is what will be done.

First: Pieces of paper with the song names will be placed in a bag, can, or cup of some sort

Second: Players will choose 3 songs from the bag, you may look or not look at the songs.

Third: From the pieces of papers the players choose, they will be placed in a bag, from there I or someone else other than the players will pick 3 papers from the bag.

If the paper has a [a] on it that means the song is on Another.

If the paper has no symbol next to it, then its on Hyper.

If the paper has a [n] next to it, then it will be on Normal. (first round only).


I will find a digital video recorder to tape the tournament. If you want to be taped then notfiy me, im probably not going to tape the whole tournament.

Okay, I'm not from here, but sudden+/hidden+ should be allowed. Sudden+ is like using a towel, it helps people score better, while hidden+ is the oppisite and will not help the player if they use it, but it should be there choice.

Alrighty. . .yeah, I'm late as hell to this thread, sorry.

1. Auto-Scratch is a penalty unto itself. Let the scrubs use it; they ain't gonna win (unless it's on Dreamin' Sun). Ditto with 5 Key (and as a bonus, everyone will laugh at that unfortunate person).

2. Easy. . .that makes for a much tougher question. You'll have to figure out what you want to do with the failing scores before you can answer this. The harsher the failing penalty, the more likely people will want to use Easy.

3. Are the DistorteD ratings going to be in effect? Otherwise, people will be dying on a certain song involving a swimming robot. . .

4. If I am on this island on that date, I am SO entering (just so I can fail in Round 3).

I got 10th place out of 11.
But i didn't even think i'd make it that far, i thought i'd get last for sure ._.;;
I still got a long ways to go.
IIDX tournament was quite fun!
Although, i was in a deep load of hell for staying out late in town.
