Marketplace Rating: 0 | thanx for the advice. I would play at Brian's a lot more, its just I kinda feel intimidated when I play. Theres all those pro guys watching and its like, they expect me and pretty much every other player to be decent or better at the game before I attempt to play publicly. Is that sort of thing true or do you think I'm just being paranoid cuz I'm new to it?

The Tilt in Windward Mall will be moving locations within the mall and one of the workers, James (I assume you know him cuz hes one of the better guys at Beatmania) said that he is gonna be able to request games around the time they move and he said Beatmania Gold is at the top of the list. I think I'll wait until I get a Beatmania at my own arcade so I'm more comfortable to play in a familiar environment. Who knows, One day I'll probably end up showing off my miserable skills at Brian's one night, but only when there's like, no one around. Heh.

Heh. | Having worked for a Tilt arcade for a very very long time, I can tell you that Tilt (the company) will never buy a IIDX machine, ever. They find it too big of an investment. Hell, Kevin Jordan (Senior V.P. of Operations) barely approved them buying SuperNOVA. IIDX is going to cost around $20,000 per cabinet. Unfortunately, I doubt they will allow for the purchase of such an expensive game, sadly.
And as for employees asking for games, our store manager tried to ask for a SuperNOVA and they told him employees were not allowed to request games. The stores get what they get and that's all.
Kinda sucks.

Kinda sucks. | This is true for the most part but there is still a slight chance that games can be brought in if we can give sales compaisions from existing locations. I'll take a low percent of success over zero anyday.

Otherwise, it's all cool. Remember that even the best players in Brian's started somewhere. . .

Who cares if you're not as good as other people, everyone has to start somewhere; and just because they're the best in the state, doesn't mean they are the best in the world.
I don't even think there can be a #1 for IIDX, since people excel at different things than others.
IE: Some people are better at staircases, some people can only do good on songs if it's random, some people are really good at jackhammers.
As far as I can tell, most people at Brians just want to get on the machine. They aren't going to criticize you (unless you do somethings that I've seen like jamming the token slot, spilling your drink on the keys without wiping it up, graffiti etc...), since they had to work their way up to where they are now as well.

Yeah, they can be nice, but they also lose their temper faster than most of the other arcade regulars if they don't know you well enough. Then there is Itokazu.

Yeah, but just because they have short fuses, doesn't make them an ass.
I don't know if itokazu refers to Jon or Derek, but I don't think either of them fall into the asshat category. :<
EDIT: Oh and if it matters, the only people I've seen so far in the asshatish category was those kids who jammed the IIDX, Beatmania the Final, DM, and ITG2 coin slots on PURPOSE.
I reported them, since I took their pictures, and they got banned from Brians, as far as I know.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | RESPECT the damn machines... It makes me cry when I go to brians and like 3 of the damn games I want to play are all f'd up. Specially on the IIDX machine... OH damn I remember like last week some guys were freaking hitting the coin slot and they said it was broken. I put in my coins nicely and the IIDX gave me a game. Of course I waited for them to leave b4 I went on.
