you guys sound like he would never get an upgrade kit. if you support what he's got now, he could very possibly get DD or Gold later when the kits are more widely available (cheaper). pour in the tokens and IIDX love, show him it was as good a buy as DDR was way back when.

Is there like a site for this place or something? I need some more info on where it is and time and crap so I know when to go spend all of my hard earned money IIDX'ing. XD

DistorteD and GOLD would still be the only logical choices to get. DistorteD because, even when it's out for PS2, the AC version is likely the only way anyone will be able to play Samba de Janiero unless Konami changes their minds at the last minute. GOLD because it's the newest, obviously, and if it's possible to get one that's unlocked, it'll have the timing patch that will make the game a bit more enjoyable for people used to CS versions.
Then again, on the opposite end of the spectrum, there's always 2nd Style. Mirrorball Satellite 2012... 
EDIT: read through the rest of the thread and saw that HS was indeed the machine decided upon. Oh well. Still cool...if they can manage to take care of it.

i'm glad i can say for sure that the monitor on the machine at BGL (formerly nexus) is definitely not the new monitor, as the cabinet says "that's Beatmania II DX 8th Style! it's too cool!"
do you guys have the machine in yet? i've got tons of free time on my hands until mid-august so i'd like to come up and try it out. | |
