Crowded could quite possibly be an understatement.

The last lock-in(if you want to call it that) left me with dehydration without the aid of a dancing game, a very big headache, and the question of why I paid twenty dollars to stand in line and have some fuck with a Naruto headband try to yell at me for playing more turns than I was supposed to(read: One, and playing it before him).

Imagine... without the lights, good music, and people actually having fun.

I'll be there.

Irrelevently, today I saw someone at EB Games at Countryside Mall in a Beatnation Records t-shirt from Konamistyle, and it was someone i'd never seen before.

It was kind of cool, I wish i'd asked the kid if he posts here or something, it'd been cool to make a new friend.

Question

*reads the last six months worth of posts* Hmm, I'm conflicted now...my buddy and myself were actually thinking of coming down to good old Beach Gameland again for some arcade IIDX now that life isn't halfway killing us but I'm not sure what to think with all the drama I've read. I really don't feel like driving from Jacksonville if the machine is really as bad as some people are saying so getting all the information I can before we settle on it would be helpful.
I assume the HAPPY SKY is still there but what's the bottom line on this whole timing/sync thing that was the cause of aggreviation from most of the older posts I've read? Is it really that bad or are people just overblowing the facts? We really want to go down there again, but if the timing is broken and thus "unplayable", then I don't want to end up getting there, being disappointed by the "unplayable" IIDX and then lamenting the money spent on the trip as a sort of waste...cause no one wants to waste hard-earned money.
Anyway, any clarification would greatly help.

I drove 5 hours from Boynton Beach, FL. I had fun, but if youre looking for good IIDX, youre going to be disappointed. I'm a pretty avid CS player and the timing on their machine was horrid.

People can argue against me and many others about it, but I was there, I played it, and I dont want to play on it again.

Okay, that pretty much helps. Given the differences in timing with my tv and certain styles and then with my buddy's tv and certain styles, I don't think it should bother us that much (given that the timing changes depending on which CS and which of our tvs we use) but I'll talk about it with him some more. Thanks for the info.
