A round of Standard mode (1 credit) consists of 3 songs + extra stage if you're good (but since it's your first time playing I highly doubt you'll get the extra stage) or when you fail (if you get an A or higher but fail on your first round you can continue on - otherwise it's game over)

Marketplace Rating: 0 | The fact that The Nexus got EMPRESS totally changed plans my buddy Yoshino and I had and so we're heading down there next Tuesday for a few days to come check this place out. It just seems like such an epic place.
I've looked over the site and noticed that Wednesdays are an all you can play day for Arcade and PC games for $15....does that include EMPRESS as well? It does say all but I don't want to error in assuming such; if so, though, I can totally get some 14KEYS practice in (or attempt to) without breaking the bank.
Still, EMPRESS, Carnival, MvC2, Blazblue, PUMP, ITG, DDR, and just...tons of awesome stuff...this place just sounds amazing and I am totally stoked to come down there...jeez, the more I think about it the more excited I get...okay, got to calm down here.
Anywho, bout of insanity aside, how does the Nexus handle paying to play anyway? I saw mention of credits and I really couldn't gleam anything from the site but I would deduce that credits involve either a key, a card, or some type of account system. If anyone could let me know which, that'd be awesome.
Oh, and for anyone that's played it yet, is the EMPRESS Beat Free cause I am totally up for getting owned by some Bitter Chocolate Striker and Himiko. XD
So, we'll be down there on the 12th to check this place out and play some Bemani goodness.

So, we'll be down there on the 12th to check this place out and play some Bemani goodness. | The Nexus uses a card system. It's $1 for the card activation and you can add however much you like and "recharge" it at no additional cost. Everything works off a dollar value and not "credits." WTF Wednesdays is $15 for unlimited play all day on arcade and PCs. Everything but Stacker (redemption game) applies to WTF Wednesdays.
The machine is comepletely unlocked - beat free.
As for the Guitar Hero concerns earlier; We're looking into adjusting the price. Unfortunately GH wasn't intended to be an Arcade game, so the songs are ridiculously long and the options for how it handles credits is a little wonky. We're looking into it though.
Sorry for being late on questions. I haven't been getting e-mails lately for some reason about activity.

Still, I'll have to drop by to check out Empress soon. Nice acquisition.

Marketplace Rating: 1 | My suspicions about Stacker have just been confirmed!
The game will automatically make you lose on the final block until a certain number of plays (800 by default). Once someone wins a big prize, the counter gets reset, and you have to wait 800 plays to win something again.
So be very careful of that game, it's ridiculously easy but you can't win.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | IIDX and Pop'n can keep me occupied for a while, but that piece of crap Guitar Hero arcade machine is a disgrace. The lag is horrible (far worse than the IIDX lag was IMO), the price for one song is ridiculous, and as someone who plays GH regularly, not having a whammy bar is dumb, that just takes out another aspect of the gameplay.
I'll just pay to use the tv's in the back and bring my 360 :P

Marketplace Rating: 1 | We can adjust the lag on the GH machine. We actually don't play Guitar Hero so when we set it up we tried our best to adjust it so that's why it's off. Next time you're there, ask us and we'll adjust it.
I'll talk to them more about pricing tonight.
