Is there a reason you pick Gainsville? I've been to the UF campus several times and honestly the place is desolate.

Jacksonville/Tampa is a lot more populated, and actually have things to do.

It's a financial move. I'm In Gainsville right now, and I like towns with nothing to do. I feel more secure in them and the rent in smaller towns DOES tend to be rather cheaper.

That and I do NOT mind driving if I have to to get places.

And the traffic is a lot worse than Ocala. Don't know how it is compared to Gainesville, though. Gainesville traffic is bad to me.

Ocala has traffic, but it isn't anything like Gainesville. It also has some things to do. Restaurants are aplenty, as well as many other stores. While the mall has nothing in it that is good (other than EB and FYE if you like those stores), the Interstate is near that mall to drive on down to Gainesville real quick. Movie theatre near the mall and only arcade in town is nearby as well.

The decision is up to you, of course, I'm just stating what I see and know. Ocala's traffic is not bad at all and there isn't everything to do there. I prefer having only a few things to do than a lot. Less time deciding what to do... unless it comes to food.

Closest amusement park would be Silver Springs, and that's something to spend maybe 2-3 hours at since it is... small. Traffic only increases when a concert is held there.

So... yeah, that's what I know... I guess...
