Default Anyone who knows about DDR arcade machines... question about the flash card

Alright, so I'm working on an Extreme machine. It has some edits saved on it. As far as I know, those edits are saved on the 32MB PCMCIA flash card, which is plugged into the System 573.

As I understand, if I decide to downgrade it to an earlier mix, that flash card gets wiped, and I lose all those edits.

Couple questions:
-Can I plug that flash card into a computer and back up the data that's on there, then just transfer the data back whenever I want to run Extreme again with all the edits on it?
-The cheapest flash card I can find is $100 on eBay. Will any 32MB flash card work, or does it HAVE to be the Fujitsu brand with Konami on the label? I.e., does the game check to see whether the flash card is a specific brand?
-The System 573 has 2 PCMCIA slots. Any reason why? It looks like it only needs one.

Don't want to fiddle around with downgrading until I'm 100% sure.

TIA

It is possible to back them up, there was a guide a long time ago to help people load edits on a flash card for machines that didn't have memory card slots. So I think it is possible. I doubt the machines are fussy what brand flash cards you use.

yes it's possible, but i honestly don't remember the program. obviously you need a pc with a pcmcia slot, but you probably already knew that. if anything, you'll do a backup with trial software and use the backup as your card.dat when installing.

the only one absolutely guaranteed to work is the fujitsu brand with the konami label. there are other types that may work, but a generic $40 32mb flash card probably won't.
