Default Asthma. How does it affect you on DDR?

What im wondering is how many of you have asthma and play DDR? How does it effect you and what do you do about it?

Lately my asthma's been getting monumentally better, thanks to me taking my inhalers properly. As a result, I can pass songs that I've never passed and I can do them barless! Its pretty much got to the point where I dont feel out of breath after 10s and its only my legs that do me wrong. Ive also been practicing everyday, which has no doubt halped. It really is a good feeling

So how is it for everyone else?

I have asthma and it really doesn't affect me. When I started doing some 10s I used be out of breath but not like, o shit my lungs are dying. I think it all depends on how bad your asthma is, for some they get asthma attacks and for others it's just a simple cough here and there. I used to be really bad, but now it's kinda history.

I started dying during the gallops in MAX 300 standard and my legs gave out. I only do it if I have my puffer thingy nearby

I've had asthma in the past, but it seems like it may be creeping up on me nowadays.

Mostly if you keep your body conditioned to playing long strenguous hours of DDR, and use your asthma treatments (IE: inhaler, steroids etc) like you're supposed too, I propose you'd probably do fine.

When I first started DDR I'd be out of breath, and needing to use my inhaler after Butterfly -upswing- and Afronova on basic. As I played more, my asthma would affect me less and less, and my lung capacity and strength improved. Eventually, I could pass anything on DDR Ex doubles, and very few things would make me winded. However, I still never play anything without my inhaler near by. Anytime I didn't play for 2-3 weeks, however, I'd lose a lot of my ability to play the harder stuff without getting winded. Now, that I only play 2-3 times a year at most, I rarely even bother with anything 10+. I can still do most 8s-9s and my lungs are ok, so I thank DDR a lot for that.

I don't use asthma. Therefore, I wouldn't know how it would effect my performance. However, I know people who are required to use asthma. They just simply stop playing whenever they need it.

Asthma isn't a thing you use, it is a lung condition. Do you mean asthma inhalers? The medicine they spray into their mouth at times?

When I used to play DDR [over-excessively] I found that it did kinda help with my asthma a little. At some times, like in the winter, I find that if I play DDR too much and it's cold my asthma would start affecting my breathing and I don't use those little pumps called Abertrol or Proventil or whatever it's called. At home I have that big machine that you'd usually find in a hospital (i think it's called a treatment).

But now I can't even do kind lady without feeling some sort breathing problems or fatigue.

I play ddr alot, (mad stamina) but I have to get a drink of water after about four songs before continuing. But if I continue past four all heavy songs I run out of breath and have to quit. Asthma just sucks sometimes -_-
