Marketplace Rating: 0 | Beverages for playing DDR? When playing DDR, I tend to lose stamina and get dehydrated quickly (I mainly play 9's and above), so on my way to the arcades, I'll stop and get a Monster energy drink, and consume it over time, between songs. However, other people I know swear by various other drinks, so I'd like to know what you guys think. Gatorade? Water? Energy drinks? Soda? What do you drink while you're playing DDR?

I used to drink them before playing DDR/ITG, and it would be an instant energy boost for me, but then I'd absolutely die halfway through any difficult song. Plus, carbonation simply does not do a good job of hydrating at all.
For now, I stick to non-carbonated stuff: water, vitamin water, Sobe, Gatorade/Powerade, etc. It helps me a lot more than energy drinks would, and I would recommend making the switch to that.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Re: Beverages for DDR Just water is fine with me. But I do lose more when I hydrate with water. I'll try other things. Maybe Sprite or something Carbonated...

I have been known to drink Powerade/Gatorade, though, and everything but the soda seems to do a lot for me in the long run, though I can only do harder songs when I first jump on a pad anyway (I play in the 9-10 footer range).

Water is second. But it only hydrates you.
Energy drinks are passable as long as you take small sips gradually over time.
Sodas fuck you up. Do not drink no matter what.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | I might try Gatorade this week, because on the way to the arcade, there's a Walmart that sells these fucking huge-ass containers of Gatorade for like two bucks, which is the amount I'd spend on a can of Monster anyway.

I've never tried Gatoreade while playing, but from what I've heard it actually works wonders.
ACTUALLY, whenever I'm at Disneyland (I have the season passes so I'm there often) I always happen to stop by Jamba Juice in Downtown Disney and I get something from there. And truth be told it actually kinda helps... Well, for me anyway.

Marketplace Rating: 1 | I used to drink exclusively fruit juice - carbonated sodas are too hard to drink a lot of, and drinking too much cold water makes me throw up.
When playing at home, milk is really, really great. Just don't drink so much that you choke up with phlegm.
(BTW, I never have understood why I can drink ~1.5 gallons of milk at a sitting yet am limited to ~0.4 gallons of water, despite the fact that water is a component of milk! Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a simple reason?)
