Default Cobalt Flux, DDR EXTREME, Dance options..

Hey I was wondering if the CF registers the diagonal buttons when stepped on. I can't play EXTREME right now because of my current pad.

Is there a way to activate dance options in EXTREME? I heard you need a gameshark or something.

Can you disable the diagonal buttons on the CF?

I miss my extreme, there's a lot of good songs I haven't unlocked yet

Here's this from Wikipedia's article on DDR Extreme (North America):

Quote:
One controversy of this game is that the options menu did not include an option to turn off "Dance Play" mode. When the mode is on, face buttons of the PlayStation controller (X, Square, Circle, Triangle) can be used instead of directional buttons. Unfortunately, dance pads have these buttons on the corners of the pad, and can be accidentally triggered, possibly resulting in poor judgement. Avid DDR players also did not like the new interface which was used for this version.
Unfortunately, you can't do it on this version, which is the one you have? If so, you can't.

you can actually enable dance play mode if you have a utility like AR MAX that allows you to download a modified save with the DP bit flipped on. As for where I got this save file, I don't remember, but i did have DP on for DDREX USA.

DDR Freak - Gamesaves - Home Versions has two saves with dance play off; one unlocked and one locked (so you can unlock it yourself)

Are there any gamesaves with the dance options but nothing else? Like all the songs are still locked?

if you have a CF then the diagonal buttons areharder to accidentaly step on than a soft pad.

I have a CF, and extreme was completely unplayable with the diagonal buttons enabled.

oh, how do you play? flatfooted? because I use my toes and thats less room for the rest of my feet to get in the way and hit the diagonals

I am pretty sure you need Gameshark (I am not sure about gameshark), or action replay (it works, but you need the one that comes with a flash drive, or you will not be able to install the save, and no, normal flash drives apparently dont work).

An action replay allows you to transfer game saves, if you can find a DDR Extreme save with the thing you need on it, you just copy it to a flash drive, plug it in to your PS2's usb ports, then boot the action replay disc. Then you can transfer the game save on
