Okay, I got my pad yesterday and I noticed something that affects my gameplay very much. For some reason, the diagonal arrows activate my directional arrows on the pad, which screws up my gameplay. Is there any way I can make it so they don't do that during gameplay? It doesn't affect my loading screen, but it seriously screws up my gameplay. Because of that, I can only luckily AAA songs that are 7 footers. All the others I have complications with streams.

Um, it should be turned off actually. If it's on then the corner buttons will register as arrows as well.

I'm pretty sure it's the Dance Play setting, not the Controller setting. If you're playing DDR Extreme US, there's nothing you can do, but otherwise just change the Dance Play setting in Options. | |

As they said: Options > Controller Options > Dance Pad settings > change it to whatever it is not currently on.

The option doesn't exist with Extreme US, so if you have a way of downloading saves, you'll have to go to ddrfreak and download a save that disables dance mode. | |

Sorry for reviving this, but I just wanted to ask something.
Is it natural for my pad to making cracking sounds when I step on the diagonal arrows, which are the non-recessed corners? I step on it, and it tends to make some sound like breaking glass. My pad has not made any errors so it isn't affecting my performance, but it is just nerve-wrecking when I think I'm breaking the pad.

It's normal, mine did the same. I'm guessing it's just the imperfections in the plexiglass. Nothing to worry about though.
