DDR Battle Mode Algorithm So we're considering running a DDR Battle Mode tournament and of course, it only seemed natural to practice it so I know how it works. The problem with it is that the bar at the top has nothing to do with the amount of Perfects/Greats/Score at the end of the song for who wins. Player 1 can PA for the first 80% of the song and then quit while Player 2 can PA for the last 20% of the song and win by a marginal amount assuming the first 80% of the song has 80% of the steps. Point is, the bar at the top is stupid... If we did run a tourney, it'd be strictly PA.
This of course brings me to my next point. While some people believe that the mods are totally random on what people get, this couldn't be more wrong. There's actually a specific formula that the game goes by for what mods are sent to each player. We've tested this somewhat so I don't have anything too precise however, it has been confirmed that certain Perfect/Great amounts during certain streams send certain mods. There's also a part of the formula where for the first 8 (varies per song I believe) steps after a mod has be sent, if you Perfect/Great all 8, the mod disappears.
Simply put, battle mode is rather complicated and takes a lot more of skill than one might think. I kinda just wanted to know if anyone has a more precise formula/any findings/any tournament running expierence on battle mode. |
