I mean has it EVER been confirmed that "Helen" and "Sarah" even have names? I'm tempted to delete all their stories... but if I'm wrong then never mind... and plus, I feel guilty killing off a lot of stuff, anyway...

I've always found the 'backstories' a little 'meh' for reference.
I say delete it all and start it up from scratch, from a real informitive perspective, not speculation.

I'm trying to figure out why the guy who put it up for deletion did it. He plays DDR, so I can reason with him. But if they want it gone, let it be gone.

From the first glance, I do not see the topic is notable enough to be included in an encyclopedia. Normally game characters that is inclued includes characters that contributes to gameplay (i.e. plot). However in this case, it does not, apparaently. (And it does not even appear in all mixes). Even said, if there is something notable regarding to the DDR/cosplaty fan following, the article can be salvaged. I am planning to write an article on DDR phenomenon and the DDR cosplay follwing can go there.

No offense, but the article shouldn't have been created. Despite the quality of some of the articles there, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and a list of the DDR characters (who have little if any backstories, even) has no encyclopedic value.

As for the VJA wiki, it probably wouldn't fit there, either, since that wiki only covers IIDX and pop'n music. If there's a DDR wiki out there somewhere (there probably is), this info would more than likely be welcome there.

The article was crap anyways. Misinformation, inconsisitencies, and I really have to wonder what their sources for a lot of that stuff were.

That's probably it. I see absolutely NO sources at all. That's probably why it's up for deletion. I'm surprised it hasn't been deleted yet.

If you're gonna undertake something like this, you gotta make sure that everyone who contributes at least adds sources. I'm not a character fan, but I never heard of most of these. So many that weren't empty had no sources. Just a few "facts" and the occasional line or two of random related text. No sources at all.

Have you tried translating the character pages? Each character from 3rd-5th mix has SOME information behind them from the websites, not as much 3rd mix ones as the other two.

Besides, I find this stuff interesting and cute. : D

... although it is hard to keep a good article on Wikipedia. And considering so few people care, that's prolly why it keeps getting messed up...

I wonder if we may as well put it up on like... a Freewebs site or something where we could do whatever we want. Then I dunno, you could set up some kinda form or mini-board whree people could submit stuff. And someone would actually approve of it before it was put up...

The thing is that it's not a good article. It's not encyclopedic, and the characters aren't notable outside the DDR community, which is why this won't work on Wikipedia. I like the Freewebs idea - it's not hard to just make a website with this info on it, and it's probably needed.

Also, when articles are nominated for deletion, they're given five days of debate before an admin makes the final decision on whether to delete or not, based on how the debate turns out.
