Hey, over the past month or so we'd been swapping out an Extreme 573 with a 4thPLUS 573, and recently we left Extreme in. I played on it before I left so I knew it was working, and my friend came in and played a few days later. Around when he was done playing, he said none of the sensors were responding. The next day when we tried to boot the machine, it gave us this error screen:
I've checked the connections on the 573 and the connections inside the front of the pads near the hose. They all seem to be secure. Anyone know how what's wrong and how I can fix it?
I think I may have solved the problem. I spent about an hour on the phone with one of the technicians at the konami service centre in Kansai and he explained to me that an error 190 or 189 is due to the stage not being properly connected to the motherboard. This could either be the wires inbetween the two sides or the ones down at the bottom at the front of the machine. Regardless I have to get a multimeter and check to see if all those wires are connected correctly since a couple of them have been taped at the connector and look a bit dodgy...
So, the connection between the dance pads and the machine is messed up, either due to not being connected properly or some bad wires or something... which makes sense, considering the problems started when the pads stopped responding
The 1P and 2P connectors to the board may have been swapped (which is really easy to do since they're not labeled). They're generally IIRC red rectangular 8-pin connectors in a single row.
The connectors on then 573 are color coordinated though. I've yet to swap the two and checked the connections saturday night. I'll check again though. =/
