and with all that said i agree on DDRMAX (US) DDR extreme (JP) and SUPERNOVA (JP) for me supernova 2 (JP) was overhyped...it was great but it wasnt omg excellent

Here's a quick question: With DDR, should I be cranking the speed up like you're supposed to in Beatmania, or is that not recommended?
Oh, and thanks for the recommendations. I think my collection will consist of: DDRMAX US (which I've got), DDR Extreme JP, DDR Supernova JP, and DDR Supernova 2 JP. Too many shitty songs on some of them to justify purchasing. | |

You really need them all. 
But if you're not going to do that, I would recommend you switch to DDRMAX2 US and add DDRMAX JP. There were a number of great songs on MAX-JP that weren't on any subsequent mix, IIRC. | |

there are people that swear by both but generally the people that can play on a variety of different speeds win tournaments more often, instead of the people trying to get everything to scroll by as quickly as they can read it

I would definately go with DDR Extreme. The japanese version is better, however, when it comes to song choice. But, that is just my opinion.  | |

For US I would go with Max, Max 2, and Extreme 2 as the best three for PS2.
For JP I would go with Max and Extreme as the top dogs. I'm not really sure what I'd put in the third spot there. I like Party Collection, and I don't think anybody has mentioned it yet. Don't forget the PS1 games, though. 3rd, 4th, and 5th all have the classics. Extra Mix has some gems in there, too. | |

Extreme JP is really a great mix I admit... much better than all of the other DDR Versions.. but yeah, all of them are great for the licenses but for the KOS, DDR Extreme JP wins...
Just remebered what 2MB said... Why do you need Konami original songs...
Because I really listen to them on my MP3 Player. DDR music, beatmania music, Parapara, Keyboardmania, GFDM, all Bemani games...
I really still wish for Konami to rerelease DDR Extreme JP and I'll buy it 100% sure...
Can anyone help me to translate the artist comment of Max.(period) and Pluto Relinquish? FELM's artist comment was the one included on the US Version of SN2 right?

To this day, I think I still play DDR Extreme more often(I haven't unlocked everything) than my Supernova 2 but these two games are really great.. DDRMAX JP has nice licenses despite the lack of unlockables...
