it doesn't help you get much better when the hardest song is about equal to an 8 footer either.

Sure, the mix was easy, but it's great for beginning players. That was my foray into DDR and now I'm doing 6-7, sometimes even 8 footers on real DDR. Still can't beat bowser castle on super hard though
The next mix should be more of a Nintendo mix. There should be songs from non-Mario games...Zelda games. Which gives me an idea...
The Legend of MAX
The Legend of ZELDA
:p
A Zelda remix would make an awesome ten.

What Mario Mix 2 could do with is being more like Donkey Konga.
What I mean is it should have a mix of licences and covers and some exclusive Nintendo tunes rather than just being based on mario tunes.
It could also feature Mario and the gang as the dancing characters but not have a story mode. Something more like Street Performance in Donkey Konga would be nice, with points you can trade in for new songs, harder difficulties, new characters, alternate character skins, etc.
If the second Nintendo DDR were to come out on Wii then that could lead to some interesting possibilities regarding the Wiimote. Wireless Dancemats, and possible Wiimote control, perhaps to make menus easier to navigate and maybe a new dance mode like what the eyetoy tried to do.
Mario tunes are great but a whole Dancing Stage game based upon a songlist of 29 of them is pretty weak.
And why should Nintendo restrict themselves to just Mario tunes when they have a whole host of games with fantastic tunes? Zelda, Metriod, F Zero?
I do want another Dancing Stage game on a Nintendo console but I want it done right. Mario mix may be good for beginners but not everyone is a beginner.

I really don't like the grading system (there's no AA or AAA recognition) and the game could definitely be harder, but it's decent. I'd prefer Mario Mix's music over most of the licensed crap in Extreme 2 any day.
