Default DDR Metal dance pad

Hey,

I am currently looking at buying a metal dance mat, I was originally going to buy a Cobalt Flux (2x) but with the recent economy problems the Australian dollar has gone down from like $USD0.98 to $USD.068 so it was going to cost to much at 300 each + 300 posting.

Then I saw this one on ebay

eBay link

It looked cheap and was in Australia so it looked great, I asked the guy what brand it was and he said it was no brand just a super special metal ddr mat.
So now im assuming its a TX-1000.

So I was hoping I could get all your opinions on this even if it is a TX-1000 are they really that bad?

Thx in advance

TX1000=as good as garbage.

Then again nothing beats a cobalt flux lately, seeing as mymybox will give you shitty service. If you can deal with MANY problems, a TX1000 is not a horrible choice, but there are problems with it that are simply unfixable. such as the shitty wiring, and the cheap panels. Not to mention the censors are trash. I say if you have the money, go for a Cobalt Flux.

If it wasn't for the fact CFs don't have bars, I would of went with them first...I guess I can get the arcade mod and stuff.....just hope mymybox will get its head out of its ass before I get my money.

You can potentially make a pad better than a Cobalt Flux or a Blueshark by doing it on your own since you don't have to rush yourself for other orders and whatnot.

If you know exactly what to do, know where to get the parts, and are confident with making your own, go for it.

I had a black version of that mat that has lasted me since summer of 2006 or so. The bottom arrow just went out. I should be able to fix it, though. I play a lot of keyboard stuff and ITG on it. It cost 99 bucks plus like...30 shipping when I got it. I have Fluxes that hurt my feet so I don't use them. The buttons are extremely responsive on the Blade too.

Afterburner? Metal Dance Pad

Afterburner on sale for $140 with FREE SHIPPING

That's a pretty impossible deal.

When I got mine a couple months ago it was still free shipping, but it was like $160 or something.

Has the build quality stayed at a good level or are they using cheaper materials? Are you noticing a lot of bending/any sensor problems/anything?

The Afterburner will bend a very little bit if you play on some really soft/thick carpet, but just throw a plywood panel under it if that's the case. They seem to hold up to a lot of crap.
