GAME DETAILS

MODES

-Before you choose a mode, you are able to choose your dancer. The old DISK characters represent a random male, female, or any dancer.
-Yuni is a new dancer. She has a "goth" outfit of sorts. There is also someone called Julio newly introduced.
-Beginner, Standard, Battle, Nonstop, and Challenge modes available.
-Battle can be played versus the CPU with 5 levels of difficulty. The higher, the better the CPU plays. You can hold down the green button when selecting a song to change the CPU difficulty.

SONGWHEEL
-Changing sort methods no longer makes the songwheel shift through them one by one. Now a menu is displayed, allowing you to go directly to your preferred sorting.
-Sorting types: Series (the folders are EXTREME, SuperNOVA, and SuperNOVA2), ABC, BPM, Artist, Difficulty, Dance level, and Top 30 based on personal use/machine use/eAmuse.
-Groove Radar values were modified. Examples of this include making Fascination MaxX and Chaos looking harder than they used to.
-A clear lamp will show up by a song that is completed on its tab on the songwheel. 1P side has bluish-purple while 2P has red.
-The rings/halos denoting a full combo at the results screen now show up on the songwheel grades as well.
-After choosing a song, you can still have a chance to change modifiers if you've let go by accident or meant to change them.
-Roulette is no longer available.

GAMEPLAY
-At the loading screen, your personal best score and the machine's personal best score is displayed momentarily. This was changed previously from the overall best as gathered by eAmuse in SuperNOVA.
-Marvelous timing is now displayed. Perfects are worth 10 fewer points than Marvelous.
-Two dancers now occupy the screen in Versus games.
-The song title and artist are now displayed for the song at the bottom middle of the screen.
-A portrait of the dancers being used will be flashed onscreen at 20 Combo, 50 Combo, and every 50 Combo after the first 50 Combo.
-The portraits take up the unused screen space. In a Single game, the portrait appears on the opposite side. In a Versus game, two portraits for both dancers appear in the middle unused portion of the screen. They only show up for the appropriate player, not at the same time for either player. In Double, the portrait does not appear at all.

RESULTS
-N.G. ratings now show up.
-The maximum score attainable is 1,000,000.
-Every step for a song is a multiple of 100 points. There are no scores with multiples of 10 or 1.
-The cutoff for a AA grade is 950,000 points.
-The cutoff for a AAA grade is 990,000 points. Yes, this means you can actually get anything below a Perfect and still get a AAA. This scale is similar to how beatmania IIDX scores.
-If you've acquired a AAA with only Marvelous and Perfect steps, you are awarded a Perfect Full Combo. 1 or more N.G. ratings will not affect this.

EXTRA STAGE/ENCORE EXTRA STAGE
-You must AA a Boss song -OR- select Random to achieve Extra Stage.
-Instead of an unrecoverable lifebar during Extra Stage, you are now forced to use a battery. The amount of lives in this battery is affected by your score on the Final Stage as follows:
990,000+ : 4 lives
975,000-989,999 : 3 lives
960,000-974,999 : 2 lives
<960,000 : 1 life (if you did not AA the Final Stage but the other player did, you will still get 1 life for Extra Stage)

-To receive One More Extra Stage (now called Encore Extra Stage) you must pass another Boss song -OR- select Random for your Extra Stage. You can change your modifiers on Extra Stage in the same way you'd change modifiers for any other song.
-Encore Extra Stage does not allow you to change modifiers. You can play any song. See the Song listing at the top of this post to see the list of songs that become selectable on EES. Step ratings of "GOOD" or below or an N.G. ends the song.

e-AMUSEMENT
-If you had a name in SuperNOVA, you can use it in SuperNOVA 2. Of course, this really only applies to Japanese players.
-The game can track calories burned. Set your weight before the game and get your results when you've completed a session.
-A session can go towards "Enjoy Points" which increase the "Enjoy Level". You will unlock content when you've increased the Enjoy Level such as additional charts ("Groove Radar Specials"), mods, arrow skins, and additional dancers.
-A personal Groove Radar and dance rank is displayed after a session. The radar tracks what aspect of the groove radar you play most frequently.

OTHER
-Sakura's foot ratings have been changed. Singles is now a 9 on Heavy and an 8 on Challenge, and Doubles is now a 9 on Heavy and a 10 on Challenge. The charts were not swapped.
-Intro movie made for game.
-Sudden fades in lower on the screen (more similar in position to Extreme, but not quite the same) and fades in faster.

-Sakura finally gets its foot ratings adjusted properly. Expert is now a 9 and Challenge is 8.
I don't want to sound dumb, but was the heavy and challenge ever switched on any of the CS DDRs on XBox?

I've never played the XBox versions so I don't know.

Wiki says No.

So I take it there are only 4 unlocks at present or no one has gotten further with their Enjoy Lv to unlock more stuff?

Yasuhiro Abe has been commissioned by KONAMI in the past for music. Most notably (i.e. the only one that comes to mind), he did D.A.N.C.E.! (Cool Extended Mix) / DJ YOSHITAKA feat. 星野奏子 (Remixed by Yasuhiro Abe)

I just hope they bring back Alice as a dancing character. =)
That'd really make me happy. Alice and babylon are my favorite characters... and now slut-cheerleading Emi too =)

Is that Trust -DanceDanceRevolution Mix - Tatsh feat.ヨーコ I see up at the tipppy-top of the picture?

BTW, I think the kanji next to DE-SIRE means change, but I think we'll let someone who KNOWS Japanese take a whack at it.

I need to see the kanji written/typed down in a reasonable size and not at an angle to determine the grapheme and check down my big book of kanji. Will somebody do that?

Also...

"Come on! Objection!"

Trip Machine Phoenix.
