Every time an arcade operator chooses to not buy a new SN2 dedicab from Betson, Betson does not make (somewhere around) $15,000. Every time an arcade operator does not buy an upgrade kit, Betson loses (estimated) $3k+. This isn't serious revenue (take a look at their site to see the amount of other games/vending they sell), but if they continue to get complaints and similar reasons that arcades will not pay for it, there is more likelihood that they won't do a half-job with SN3 (and even possibility that they could add e-Amuse support to SN2).

A better option is waiting until SN3 drops in Japan (which will probably be in 6 months or less) and SN2 kits go up on Yahoo Auctions Japan (which for non-Japanese users can be accessed via Rinkya for a small fee) for a fraction of the price of a new kit from Betson. Your arcade can most likely get a SN2 upgrade kit for less than $500 (as opposed to an estimated $3k+ from Betson). The differences are VERY minor between the versions (think of any DDR Extreme machine and the difference in localization between it and SuperNova US) and it will most likely come with full unlocks (I live near an arcade which bought a JP SuperNova 1 machine which also came with all of the unlocks, including boss songs in normal gameplay), all of the nonstop/oni courses, and possibly noteskins and character unlocks. This not only saves your arcade money and gets them/you a superior version of the game but also communicates a message to Betson (if they call and give their thoughts as for why they aren't upgrading through them) regarding doing a better job next time around.

Like others have said, Betson/Konami make no money from a machine's income. They only make money when an arcade owner buys either an SN2 dedicab or upgrade kit. Not playing at a location will not send any message whatsoever to Betson/Konami.
Brazo, maybe make an offical nerws post urging people to do this, similar to the IIDX GOLD campaign?

Well, I'll be waiting to see whether the game comes with unlocks (By the time this is shipped, the JP version will only have to unlock 2 more songs, Uranus and Poseidon, besides the boss songs) and whether or not it will have e-amuse (It was never 'out of the cards') before I decide whether or not to advise my arcade not to get it.

Honestly, as long as we don't get stuck with the default song list, I'll probably be begging my arcade to get it.

Well still get our boss songs, lol.

But no, SuperNOVA 2 is serious business, people. Seriously. I mean, active boycotting, planning to give Betson a word or two by damaging their potential sales. There could only be one arcade that can get SN2 and that would be enough information for EVERY arcade to stop where they are.

And remember, just because we don't have SN2 doesn't mean we don't have ITG2. I'm not much of a fan, but I am way too impressed by Roxor leaving behind a dangerous weapon such as R21 that gives the power to damage Konami/Betson posthumously.

But yeah, I am thinking we're getting a game that won't even make playing Trip Machine Phoenix as easily as picking it for the first stage.

How the heck are they gonna do the GLOBAL INTERNET RANKING when all the Japan-only events end and e-AMUSE isn't even supported in NA and Europe with 10 courses locked and 18 songs locked (not including Unreal/NGO/TMP)...

I just love how Beston follows the John Carmack model (it's ready when it's ready). No hard release date, no e-Amuse support, no public advertising whatsoever, and no guarantee of unlockability and depth to a game Betson erroneously claimed to have 200+ new songs, if I remember correctly. Don't bet on Betson.

I just emailed Bob of Betson asking him if the U.S. will get everything Japan has gotten through eAMUSE, e.g. alternate character costumes, and he said:

"I am told the US version is the same as Japan version.

Bob"

Then I asked him when he thinks it is coming out, and he said this:

"we will ship in about 3 weeks in the USA."

I copied and pasted his exact words.

Depending on what he means by "same as Japan version", it's either:

If they will come pre-unlocked with the stuff Japan has already got, which I highly doubt.

OR

If the kits are distributed in an initial state: EVERYTHING LOCKED and has to be connected to e-AMUSE to download the current 'status' of the unlocks which would then sync up with Japan. If this is the case, someone really needs to convince Betson to get e-AMUSE out and running.

I'm betting on the "initial state" option.

IIRC Konami was pushing e-Amuse really hard and Betson was refusing it, so there was decent right for Konami to assume they'd go with it.

You can take off any Century Theatre locations because I have heard that they will not be upgrading any of their machines (I work at one).
