So has it been absolutely confirmed that if a machine doesn't have any unlock codes entered in, you can skip the LV1 code and go straight to the later ones? Because a few weeks ago I tried to put in the LV3 code and didn't get it to work at all. Went to play this weekend with the LV4 code, and was completely unsuccessful at that as well.
Now this is a Betson-made dedicab, so it goes without saying that the pads are already experiencing errors! Mostly on the 2P side though, which is where 90% of the LV4 code is entered, OF COURSE. It's possible I'm getting padfucked when I put the code in, but you'd think that just maybe in one of those attempts it would actually work.
Next time I'll make sure I have the other codes written down and start with the first one because I don't know what else I could be doing wrong. I've been putting in the codes at regular rhythms of varying speeds, and nothing.

Fucking scumbags.
SN1 cabs are great though, if properly maintained. Long as the monitor doesn't blow, which as far as I know is the only problem with those dedis so far.

From the looks of it, I guess even with importation costs and surcharges, the Brand New Japan-made cabinets (that are really made by Konami Japan) are apparently still way better than Betson's crapcabs.
Ripoff indeed
Which is why I hope that Konami Japan will be the only ones producing brand new cabinets for sale (domestic and overseas).
I mean, to quote an example, our local arcade bought a brand new SN1 machine (when the game was still newly released) and it was made by Konami Japan. Now look at it, after ONE FULL YEAR of usage (7 days a week), it works real well. No maintenance was needed and heck, the mechanics and technicians of the arcade never even touched it because the dance pad sensitivity is damn consistent and durable. Now that it has been upgraded to SN2 (American Version), the pads still work flawless (like as it was when it was still brand new).
Now that is what I call quality and durability

Tsk tsk.
Granted, you can obviously tell that there were none of those side cardboards that were released at all.

I tested this out myself, attempting to enter level 4 first and it never worked. You can enter in one code, wait for the title screen to come back, enter the next code and so on.
Also, when hitting the arrows, you cannot remain on the arrows as if you're playing normal DDR.
