I have been reading news that Microsoft seems to be slowing/possibly stopping development on their backwards compatibility. They haven't been releasing many updates and I think one of the 360's reps said something like "people don't really care about backwards compatibility anymore" and thats its not a priority for them anymore.

I think that was that mother fucker Peter Moore. Also he said "the peopple who have a X360 dont want play old Xbox games on his X360, they want new games whit better graphics & sshyt.
But then the next day i saw a new update saying that was false (i dont remember the name of the guy who said that) and they was working for new updates for BC.
Also dont blame konami for dont make a patch to let us play UMs on X360.As far as i know, Microsoft its the only one who can make those patches.
And remember guys: DONT SELL YOUR XBOX!

So you'll have to get a new dancepad either way.

HOWEVER, if you have Windows XP (maybe earlier, or maybe even other OS's, IDK) then you can plug a 360 controller into a PC. So, if you have Stepmania or DDRPC or ITGPC or whatever but no USB dancepad, there's your solution.
