I think the issue is more that no one has done so yet.

For everyone flipping out about the 360 updates, Peter Moore has since said that his remarks were merely meant to placate morons that complained that nothing good was coming out and to emphasize that they're looking towards the future, not that backwards compatibility is being shelved. If you want the old Ultramixes to be playable on your 360, then follow the suggestion here and e-mail the team that works on this stuff yourself. Let them know what you want.

Just propogating an unsubstantiated rumor here, but what I've heard is that Microsoft is requiring all (ALL) controllers for the 360 to include some sort of authorization code in the hardware, and that if a device doesn't have said security code, the 360 will simply ignore it. The only way you can (legally) get whatever is needed is to go through Microsoft, and you can bet MS isn't particularly keen on approving adaptors that would let you use controllers from other systems. Right now, to my understanding, they've got the peripheral market locked down, and I'm not sure if that's going to change. May mean new pads for everyone.

does playing DDR on a newer machine have to really be this difficult. They're probably testing us, to see who really are the hardcore DDR players.

I mean like, why the hell can't it (Xbox360) be like the PS2 and play all those PS1 games without having patches and all that crap. The 360 is really starting to have less and less of influence the more I learn more stufffff about it.

Because 360 doesn't have built-in Xbox hardware, for whatever reason (probably because it's cheaper) So, they have to emulate Xbox games on the 360.

Lies, there were quite a few songs that appeared on multiple platforms. Can we say Love Shine, .59 and CSFIL(SM) to name a few. I don't mean to flame you Reenee, but read up some before making blanket statements like that.

I'm guessing the Light and Standard steps for "B4U (BZBM)" might be the ones from Euromix 2. And it will also have Heavy steps harder than the Oni steps.

Nope.

Not confirmed. Unless you provide a source, you will be warned for posting false information if you do it again.

This is really exciting news. Ok, so I've known about it for a few months, but I get more excited everytime I see a thread on this. I guess I'm just curious what is in store for us on a "next-gen" DDR. The nonstop-megamix mode is intriguing, and I hope that it's actually done in the style of the megamixes we know and love. If the songs are just faded into each other Konami will have hell to pay, but if it's actually mixed and all then they'll be receiving a lifetime supply of cookies in the mail from me.

Plus, this could mean we see backwards compatibility for the Ultramix series. Even if it's not confirmed, and it doesn't require it, a succesful DDR on the 360 could push Microsoft to make BC for UM a priority. It seems that so far they've stuck to top sellers and games that are simple to make compatible, so if we see a hit with Universe AND UM4 we might just get what we're wanting.

Of course, I do wonder about the pads. We all know how well current wireless pads hold up, and although the 360's wireless controllers seem to have a much better response than previous examples of the technology, I'm still worried about the almost obligatory wireless pads. I hope Konami doesn't try and stick with the trend of wireless just for the heck of it. But if they truly can work out a wireless pad that works that's just more cookies for 'em.

I added one more measly licensed song but if you like the song heard in the Universe trailer, you'll be happy to know the song I added is the same song in said trailer.

Expect pictures and a brief bit of info on this tomorrow based off the San Diego Comic-Con display version, but not much: so far, it looks like all we have on the demo version is the exact build from the trailer shown at E3, only playable.

And people keep whoring out B4U (B4 ZA BEAT MIX). Bastards.
