Plus, everyone has their own idea of what a good chart is. Getting one group's opinion on what a good stepchart consists of is not the same as getting the whole community's. I would much rather them release surveys every once in a while, picking a handful of charts and having players rate them and give explanations for the rating. That way, everyone would be able to throw their two cents in, and the writers would have a little more to go on.
Anyways, just my opinion. | I didn't mean it that way. I meant that they could see if the chart was good....not hard.

You are preconcepting them.
You aren't even getting my point.
Remember what happened with HDV's challenge steps with those seemingly impossible crossovers? What about DEGRS's challenge steps?
I was just saying they could have testers for feedback on how they feel the stepchart was made so we don't get songs like that again.

DEGRS and HDVO seem like obvious enough omissions (Although I know a lot of people who like those charts), but most charts have split opinions in the DDR community.
Pluto, Pluto Relinquish, PH, TMP, Arrabbiata, and many others in SN2 have many opinions floating around about them, depending on who you talk to. I would feel extremely cheated if a couple of the best players (Skill is not equal to stepchart judgment ability btw) were plucked from the community and allowed to dictate which charts were good and which were bad.
What Konami needs to do, in my opinion, is actually ask more about stepchart quality. I've heard them ask about difficulty recently, but I haven't really heard them asking for suggestions on how the charts are actually written.
Anyways, they actually already hired some step artists from the community, so in a way your wish has already been fulfilled. I just hope they can write charts as good or better as the American team did for SN2.

MaxX Unlimited is harder for me than TLOM (although I haven't really passed either on pad) Legend is faster, but it's pretty straightforward until the end. MaxX has many BPM changes (with weird step changes between them), and TONS of jumps (I remember TLOM having lots of air, but I don't remember jumps being harder) | |

In Hong Kong though, they still prohibit cameras and video recording even if there is no location test (which I think is a shitty rule). Fortunately, some establishments that put signs like that don't even care so that's why I prefer visiting those places.
However, during the Jubeat Asian Version location test in South Korea, there were a few videos posted with high quality recordings. I think they even got a recording of the opening video of it as well.
It depends on a case-to-case basis. In events though such as those arcade expos in London and Italy, they're not strict about taking videos or photos at all. Heck, because of that, I think that we got TONS of info on SN1 Arcade Version from the ATEI expo two years ago........before the game itself actually was released worldwide.
So yeah, it's really a case-to-case basis.
