Well, either Gameworks or Betson is doing something. Our Gameworks now has relatively working pads...just SDG'ed Freeway Shuffle on Heavy. Problem is, the lag is still there.

Here's hoping there's a patch or that e-amuse will be up and running (ugh).

Do any locations with X even have e-Am yet?

Time for my two cents, I guess? O: Probably nothing you haven't heard or seen before, but here's another opinion on an X machine in the MI area. :] Just for future reference, I guess. I went out to the GameWorks an hour or so away from here today, and tried X. Just, y'know, to see if it was THAT BAD.

It wasn't. I don't think I'll be playing it more than the Extreme and SuperNOVA and PIU machines there, but it was playable. I don't get stellar grades consistantly, but getting Ds all the time was kind of not cool. The lag was there, but I got used to it. The problem is that it was there in the first place, but....

The pads....Eh. They were okay, I guess. Since June.H described the pads as "Relatively working", I'd say that's what we have over here, too. The only times they really were just terrible was on a series of really fast notes, and on freezes. Oooh, boy, those freezes. >_> I had to stand on one foot and put all my weight on the arrow to get it to hold. Now, I'm a pretty tiny girl, but even the local Extreme, with pads that've seen better days, register the notes better than that.

On the nitpicky side, the cab was kinda...plain to me. Is it just me? I was looking forwards to all those LED lights. But the screen is nice and big. :3 The machine was loud enough for me to hear [and there's a PIU right next to it], so that was good. But, um, the arrows [the pictures of up, down, left, right] seemed to be..moving if I hit them the right way. That kinda frightened me. This was the only time I've felt like I was going to break a machine, and a 105 or less lb girl should -not- be worried about that. ._.

It's a shame. =/ I really loved the songlist, I found a few new songs I enjoyed in my two-game [3 stages each] run...But beacause of the pads, I don't think I'd spend a lot of my money on it when there's a PIU, Extreme, AND a SuperNOVA in pretty good condition just a few steps away. I shouldn't have to pay more for a machine that preforms like an old one. I'd give it somewhere around a 3/5....Great game, bad machine. </3 so sad.

The e-amuse slots got me stoaked. I'd probably play it once or twice more when [if? >>] that gets up and running.

It's cool that it looks like the problems are getting fixed though. :]

SVGL got their machine in Sunnyvale California. Our pads aren't bad at all, but the lag is utter shit. I was waiting for ddrx to get back into ddr, but until they fix the lag, I am content not playing like i have been for the last 7 years.

Scratch my last post. Betson came by on Saturday to fix the pads and they worked great. Yesterday a friend said they sucked, and just tried it out today...and yeah it's back to suck. Our GW's pretty pissed, they said best thing to do is bother Betson.

THE MOTHER FUCKING PADS ARE MADE OF MOTHER FUCKING WOOD!

I'm not joking. I was at the Schaumburg game works with MonMotha just now. We decided to give the underside of the pads a feel. They're wood.

That explains the shittyness.

This sounds like a nice big helping of someone clearly not giving any form of a shit.

WOOD? REALLY?

betson generally does not release upgrades until the new cabinets have been out for 3-5 months so that people will buy the new machines

Just confirmed it with Sword, Monmotha and Yeehaw, it's made of wood on bottom of the pad.

So basically you're paying $10,000 for an thicker overglorified MyMyBox pad.
