ya sorry i just dont post here often so I guess im not that well known here

anyways I got 7 AAAs on X this weekend. We did not install the pad fix cause the pads were working and we didnt wanna risk messing it up. The first "fix" they sent didnt work and made things worse so we held off. I believe our arcade is installing it this week.

I do not know if every arcade is receiving the fixes. I know our manager talks to betson frequently so i would ask your arcades to do the same

So for the edit mode for the us, can we use the jps2 edit data for ps2 on a usb or do we have to use the edit mode for pc to be distributed at a later date when and if they turn edit mode on?

I know that they havent done anything with edit mode yet in the us but was just wondering if i couod use x jpcs to make my edits instead of a pc program.

It has to be with special software. There's a beta test of the online step editor here:
http://ddredit.konamionline.com/

It's been confirmed, at least in the UK, that IF the machine has edits turned on, they will work with edits from this software.

Yup and it's been mentioned before that a feature in the operator menu will allow access of the USB slots (for step edit purposes). In fact, when it prompts for a USB drive, then one will obviously know that it is activated.

The Japanese version of DDX (for PS2) will only make edits that are usable on in Japanese version machines (and Asian version machines via changing the letter "J" in the filename to "A").

All edits and all songs and stuff are still available (from what I know and understand). It's just that for UAA and EAA machines, you will have to use the PC software application while for JAA and AAA machines, the PS2 edit feature.

In short, different iterations of the same thing.

So how is betson distributing this fix for the pads/ hd lag in the us? Do the arcades have to contact them or are they sending these out to everyone who bought a machine?

The x machine near me the pads have actually gotten worse, if thats possible D:

In skegness, UK we had the IO 3CD patch applied last weekend and from what i have read/heard this is sent out by konami, without the Arcade requesting.

Getting that song as Extra Stage isn't that hard, you just have to AA a Challenge only song from Max2, then qualify for Extra Stage via On The Break, Xmix1 or Random.

I'm sure Sword or June has gotten it but no one really mentioned it. Yeah the pads were great. I can't get that past that infamous double stepping slow down part. Guess I have to download stepmania to learn it.

Yeah, PASSING it (let alone AA) is quite the challenge. Whoever gets Kakumei X Special in the US first ought to feel "special" lol.

Yo Ashura... Um you speak of DDRX like youve played it... Is there a decent DDRX in Texas right now? I know there is one in Hurst and Arlington. Are they any good?

Haha, just the PS2 versions, and the X-Specials on Stepmania, but I've been following the course of the game's unlocks (well the JP Machines anyway). I have not been to the 2 locations you mentioned, nor do I know of any others in our area, I heard both of those were the crappy first versions, and I have no idea if they have upgraded the pads and software yet. I guess you could ask in our regional forum though.
