This was what I thought Dice Master Mode was going to be:
An arrow rolls up the screen while the song "Ice Ice Baby" by Vanilla Ice plays, you step on the arrow (die roll)
1- Boo
2- Almost
3- Good
4- Great
5- Perfect
6- Marvellous
roll die for all the arrows in the song and calculate your grade to be the next [s]dungeon master[/s] dance master and challenge the boss.

It looks like there are just six characters: Emi, Bonnie, Yuni, Baby-Lon, Zero, and Rage. I've no clue if you can unlock more though.

I've no clue if you can unlock more though. | Yeah, you have to clear the missions with the road blocks on them that look like they lead to nowhere, when you do that you are given a new character die piece to use, once you roll that one he/she appears in their new area.
Luckily the hidden characters already have pre set levels to start with. | |

Hey you're right it does sound like a MITSURU song! When I heard it, I thought that it definitely would fit in IIDX. I bet that it'll be in Sirius! So would that mean that TAG could be SUPER STAR MITSURU? | |

BTW, did anyone play Roppongi Evolved double? I only got the A ver. but it's the craziest thing I've ever seen! I don't have a camera to get a video to show, but try it in the 3rd course if you haven't unlocked the song yet, the jumps are impossible! And I thought Übertreffen had an impossible part at the end... | |

Wow, there is like, no interest in this game at ALL.
When X came out last year, this board was booming with activity.

They managed to snag a couple good licensed tracks, but the maniac charts suck (see Just Dance, Disturbia); when you can tell which stepcharts were made by the same person because they are filled with nothing but crossovers and up-down-right/lefts, you know that person should be forced to play 3rd mix SSR for a while and get some ideas for better patterns. Endless was fun except you can tell there is a general lack of difficulty when you get Pluto the First twice in your first set of 5 songs (playing the level 4 selection); they should have fleshed the songlist out with more pre-X 8's and 9's revivals, especially stuff from Extreme US that we could play with corner buttons off. Oh and the re-created KOs like Dynamite Rave and Keep On Movin' can go (or make them instrumentals).
There are a few bright spots. The interface seems nicer than X, and I thought the default songlist sounded better than X's (except for the X-edit revivals, good old classics). Other than being forced to play beginner, DMM didn't seem too bad but I know it will get frustrating trying to hit a specific spot and get the last mission/space/envelope. I thought Request Mode was a different twist as well, though if all it does is unlock pictures I won't be spending time finishing it. Maybe I am biased because I like pre-Supernova2 releases more, but give me new Dancemania licenses, more crossovers from IIDX, and the Extreme interface and I would be happy. | |
