If they were to name something DDR new beat, I expect some old acid house classics in there.

This new DDR will be nice to see, though. Really curious to see what all will be on it.

I think the price dropped because this is probably the last DDR for the PS2.. ]: So whoever doesn't have a PS3 but still have their trusty PS2, they can go get that.. And that is the only Last Gen. Console they are still using for the DDR series... Which could be another reason for the price drop.

I like it just being "Dance Dance Revolution" It's a fresh beginning after all! :]

This should be the last DDR period.

It's so far from the DDR i knew and loved.

I'm done.

It won't be the last as long as DDR continues to sell the way it does.

The ps2 and Wii versions better be cheaper containing like a 4th of the songlist available on the other versions.

the sales of 2008's ddr games combined (about 1.09 million) were about half of 2007's games (about 2.16 million)

I've discussed this before. One of the reasons 2007's game sales are more than 2008's are because...2007's games have had an additional year to garner sales.

Of course, there are other factors too. The economy was a lot better off in 2007 than it was in 2008. The PS2 was also still a relatively popular system in 2007, while it was increasingly more obsolete in 2008 (in fact, when X was announced, it prompted a lot of people to wonder why they were still heading the PS2 route without at least releasing a spin-off on PS3).

Hottest Party 2 is actually selling better than Hottest Party at the moment. In its 37th week, HP2 has sold 610,000 copies, while Hottest Party had only sold 520,000 in its 37th week.

Strangely, I don't know what accounts for DDR Universe 3's extremely poor sales compared to Universe 2's.

Compare Games - VGChartz - Video Game Charts News Reviews Cheats Tips FAQs Walkthroughs Forums

If you see that chart, Universe 3 started off slow compared to Universe 2, but actually started outselling it until its 15th week when sales absolutely went stale.

To be honest though, DDR Universe 2 is an unusually good selling DDR game for the 360. Universe 3 is actually outselling DDR Universe 1...I wonder what made Universe 2 such a big hit compared to Universe 3 and Universe 1?

Why more chances? Licensed song selection has been on the decline since Extreme AC (or Max2 AC, arguably), crossover song selections since Supernova AC, stepcharts have been on the decline since Supernova AC, and now they are going to the PS3 which has a smaller install base, no ports for my CF, and has some music/step registry lag.

To be fair, I haven't played a rhythm game on PS3 but I have tried it on PS2 to HDTV and, even if the music and arrows are synced, there is still the delay of hitting the arrow to it registering. This only gets more complicated if you try a PS2 to USB or a wireless pad, the latter being crap for anyone that plays above light.

Just give me a DDR the final. Charge a 100 bucks, slap on as many old licenses and KOs that will fit, screw the arenas and dancers and just slap some backgrounds on, and put it on a PS2 disc. Then you can take the series wherever you like and I won't care, I just won't have to swap old mixes as much.

Well, my friends said that they never knew there was a game after Supernova, and they would of bought it. I think Konami doesn't do well in advertisement as much as it used to in the Extreme days. Everyone I know has Supernova and Extreme US (some have Max or Ex2), yet I am the only one with Supernova 2 or X.

To be honest, the only game I remember being advertised a whole lot is Extreme 2, which had some TV commercials with Karaoke Revolution Party.

I do remember SuperNOVA having a few things here and there, but nothing for SuperNOVA2 or X. I would think that they would want to put a lot of advertising for this, considering all the popular licenses and such.
