Konami DX pads on ebay? Where?!?! I would buy one in a second if I saw one... The only place I see them on is Rinkya (Ebay Japan) and that's too much trouble.

Is it really the foam that makes or breaks the quality of the pad? I read that RedOctane uses the same sensors/materials as other ignitions but it is the hard foam which makes it respond so well. Is this true?

I also decided to get a RedOctane Ignition 3.0 (last April). It works fine, but it's been cracking lately (especially near the outside corners of the center square, and I had to put tape on it. I expected the pad to last longer than this, and I have NEVER let anyone play on the pad with shoes on. Has anyone else had that same experience?

Thats why I did, im kinda new and I wanted a really really cheap pad to see if I liked the game at all, so I duct taped it to the floor.

Im wondering if this is why I cant pass anything over 4 feet.

The Red Octane that I have is still working. The cracks have not gotten any bigger, since I have covered them with durable tape. I do have a BNS DX pad, but I don't seem to like the height of the arrows (it's harder to feel around than the Red Octane).

So do I. It's like a year old. It has cracks, and the tape really helps. But yeah, the new Ignition pads are horrible. I got one, and ugh! Luckily they let me return it... Twice! Maybe three times I tried, can't remember.

Oh, and that was on heck of a bump yesterday. o_O

Yeah, the new Ignitions are bad. I got one for a DDR group I'm part of and... it didn't end well.

It's so entertaining to see this thread come back - it was probably the first one I posted when I came to Bemanistyle. It seems so long ago...
