If anyone has the advice here, go right ahead and post them here. I'll update the first post whenever I get the chance. Peace-out.
Update as of 2/19/08: I'm also new to this Doubles thing. Right now, I'm playing SuperNOVA AC with doubles since I can play either Versus or Doubles for only 3 coins (which is 1 credit at my area).
2/20/08 Update
I started off with a few songs last week, like Burning Heat! (3 Option Mix) on Basic to get used to moving around. I failed Afronova Primeval due to a jump (one on the left pad, the other on the right side) and that got a bit confusing, so if you want to practice the fast BPM songs, try Gekkou Chou or Exotic Ethnic. Keep in mind that these songs exist in SuperNOVA 1 AC. I can't tell if Exotic Ethnic and Afronova is in SN2 yet. DoLL is allright for practice at high speeds, as well. I wouldn't recommend murmur twins on Basic because it's way too easy, but Difficult is fine if you don't mind travelling across both pads. That's is so far. Any more information is appreciated.
2/21/08
By the post of InPhase, if you want to practice jumps on each side, try Dynamite Rave on Basic. It's of course at 150 BPM, and is readable at 2x speed. I used to try 3x speed on singles, but I have to understand the notes before trying 3x at 150 BPM.

Holic and Era are really good songs to build up your "heavy status." They are just simple crabwalk steps (in other words- your body can always face the screen on these songs).
Afronova has nice and well-placed crossovers, and they are telegraphed, so you can go "... oh! Turn my body and put foot here." Note that I do believe that this song is still hard, just helpful.
Jane Jana is a great song to learn cross overs on because it also has "reverse" crossovers (done with up arrows). Not to mention, it isn't really fast.
There are alot of good songs where you keep one foot on one arrow and move the other around. The only one that comes to mind right away is CSFIL Speed.
If you have good balance, Synchronized Love is a GREAT song for body switching and moving all around the pad.
So deep is good for getting a constant flow of notes. Also, the pattern repeats a fair amount of times, so once you have the pattern, you have a good 1/3 of the song.
I disagree with the 5.1.1. thing: it is a GREAT song since you can get the pattern down, then just move your feet faster (muscle memory?). Also slow.
Absolute has a couple of places that has interesting inter-pad cross overs. So does the end of l'amour et liberte.
20, november has some difficult rhythms. However, if you get around that, there is some fun play around the middle of the two pads.
Last- groove 2001 isn't that hard, and it has a couple of good spots for learning to turn your body around. If you are good PA on singles, this should be a simple AA after you can move your body around.
I haven't taught much doubles, so my information isn't as solid as if you were asking me about singles. And not playing in about 6 months hinderse my memory. Still, I hope this helps someone. | This should be useful here right now. Groove 2001 Basic does feature a few easy 8ths for those practicing. Also, I was playing SuperNOVA AC, like I mentioned in the first paragraph, so I couldn't play So Deep. Quote:

Can anyone suggest any good songs to practice pad crossovers on? Maybe something like Silent Hill Heavy, but with not-so-lengthy streams.

am-3p is pretty decent for learning pad transfers
5.1.1 can be really helpful except for the fact that the ending is basically a 16th note run that copies the first part of the song, just at double speed lol
twilight zone and luv to me AMD will help you learn to trust your ability to turn since there are a lot of strange turns in them (for luv to me: start the beginning of the song with your left foot on 1P right and your right foot on 1P down)
if you have supernova, i'm for real, freedom, toxic, flowers, and kiseki work too.
if you want something to test how well you have pad transfers down, can't stop fallin in love (speed mix) on doubles is the best there is for it. if you have supernova, the intro to star gate heaven is good for this too.
gitidara: my suggestion is just to make yourself play harder 9s without the bar until you feel comfortable. max300 is pretty easy on doubles until the last run. paranoia survivor is way easier on doubles than on singles. cartoon heroes will help you learn to move faster. also, in general you should play doubles 1 speed mod slower than you do singles; if you're trying to read fast speeds you will have problems keeping your balance

However, if any doubles newbie is reading this, I must warn you, NEVER EVER EVER EVER do the Higher hard charts (be it or not NMMix). The 8ths are crazy and I failed quarter-way into the song.
