Marketplace Rating: 0 | Everyone, on the bandwagon! I've noticed through various forums, not just BemaniStyle, that there are a lot of strong opinions about SuperNOVA. But some of the users, when I confronted them about their decisions, most of what I got back was "well my friend/brother/sister/dog/monkey/everyone said it sucks". Or "my friend/ex-wife/venus fly trap/fellow G-unit/everyone said the song list was awesome" Hmm. A baseless opinion. Apparently, not everyone's gone out and played it, either because they were simply told it sucked and were advised not to play it, or they haven't had the opportunity.
All I know is, when it comes to these games, I will take what I've been given and enjoy it. The menu interface is total eye candy, but functionality-wise if I press right two times in quick succession, I want the song list/difficulty to go over two selections, and not wait until the animation of the first one's finished. But the song list contains just about everything from Extreme, wicked game crossovers, and it's a refreshing experience. It could be worse, they could've done like DDRMAX and removed all previous content altogether.
But... that's my opinion. For those of you who were told by your friends, you guys should go out and get one of your own, whether it be positive or negative. Otherwise someone else is just telling you what you like. (Mass media's already monopolized this.)

I had played the home version first and it was rather good, but to my suprised the a/c version just 'failed' for me. I spent my whole time playing ITG2 instead, since it was new and refreshing, with a easy to read interface.
PS. I love your music.

I think it needs a tune up, like this "200-300 song update" I keep hearing about.

The majority of the community has asked for editable configurations, full usage of the Challenge difficulty, and other additions that pretty much makes the game have a wider range of difficulty and being able to customize play. All SuperNOVA is a Tokyo-made Ultramix with no edit data support.

Look...I think this is a great series. An enormously entertaining series. Up to Strike, the only two games I didn't have an overwhelmingly positive opinion of were Extreme (nothing special) and Festival (pretty good).
I did not like SuperNova. At all.
The licenses were a total letdown, far too much worn-out overplayed pop and pop covers. The crossover choices were absolutely baffling, and at most two or three were appropriate for a dance game. (E.V. Cafe would've been a better choice than Xepher. World Wide Love would've been better. Doigts de Fatima would've been better.) The repeats were as depressingly predictable as ever; no more than a token attempt to include anything unusual or underrated.
The whole Galaxy/Pix/whatever it was called unlock system was just ridiculous. After having an incredible blast unlocking everything in Strike, introducing a system this clumsy, with numerous unlocks depending on pure chance...gah.
The single generic background was lame and reeks of laziness.
I'm tired of this. Tired of overrated mainstream fluff, tired of done-to-death IIDX and Gitadora songs becoming done-to-death DDR songs, tired of two or three versions of every boring techno song, tired of the endlessly repeated repeats. I simply can't take this anymore.
If you like the game, great. I have no problem with that. But include me out.

Marketplace Rating: 1 | In my opinion, here are the pros and cons of SuperNova
Pros:
-The AC version has one good new song
-The home version has lolis
-Interface is snazzy
Cons:
-1/3 of the new songs are really bad licenses
-The rest of the songs are poorly cut crossovers
-The stages are bland, and there are only 6 or 7 characters for them
-The home version has a pretty crappy unlock system
MAX may have removed all old content, but at least it gave us some new content. And freeze arrows.

Most of the songlist didn't really excite me and really a lot of the songs I liked were ones from other games that I've played already. I didn't like the Extreme 2 esque options menu either, I wish they just had the old one that worked, it didn't really need to be changed in my opinion. Interface kind of looked cool, too, just a little out of place compared to the old one's styles. Quote: |

You can only make the same game so many times before you run out of innovation (MADDEN).
I just view this as typical DDR fan bullshit.
Fans: "KONAMI MAKE A NEW GAME. WE DON'T HAVE ANY MORE DIDDERS."
Konami: "Meh."
Roxor: "HAY GUYZ. LOL."
Fans: "Yay!"
Konami: "FUCK."
Roxor: "LOL ITG2!"
Fans: "Yay!"
Konami: "SUE!"
Roxor:
Konami: "SUPERNOVA IS COMING OUT!"
Fans: "YAAAAY! FUCK U ROXOR."
Roxor: *cutcutcut*
Konami: "SUPERNOVA IS OUT!"
Fans: "....WTF IS THIS BULLSHIT. WE DIDN'T WANT THIS."
Konami: "It's new DDR."
Fans: "FUCK THIS GAME."
Konami: *APPARENTLY CAN'T DO ANYTHING RIGHT*

And yea, I hate the way there arent backgrounds, only this stupid repetitive dance stage. that was a huge no no.
Its better than extreme....why? Because it has almost every song extreme did, plus a lot more.
People kept making a huge deal about how DDR kept cutting out KO songs and then when they keep every KO from the last mix, people complain about that.
Thats what you get when the fanbase for this game is tweenz. :S

Marketplace Rating: 0 | I don't get it either. SuperNOVA is awesome. Period. They kept all the songs from EXTREME (except the licenses), so no bitching about that there, They added a ton of awesome new songs (CURUS.... indeed. Enough said), the dancing backgrounds are awesome, reguardless of what anyone else says (lol, being closed-minded like the rest of the fanbase). Oh god, the song wheel noise is annoying. Who gives two flying fucks.
SuperNOVA > EXTREME. SuperNOVA > ITG2. SuperNOVA < IIDX13AC. SuperNOVA < ITG3 (or what was known about it).
I don't want retarded mines or rolls in my DDR. I'm glad they didn't add anything new. It would of sucked ass. You just can't add anything new to a 4-panel game. ITG thought it would be cool to swamp a song with a shit-ton of "mines" (what the fuck does that have to do with arrow smashing..) [i.e. Vertex 1 EX], and that song is terrible to start with. Innovation has gone as far as it can.... other than using the Wii-mote as a glowstick. DDRHP for the fucking win.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Pro:
- a couple of good new songs
- graphics are snazzy, yet somehow NOT UTILIZED
- Home version had nice remixes with good steps
Con:
- WE WAITED 4 YEARS FOR THIS?!
- poor choice crossovers (Xepher, Ska Ska)
- bad crossover cuts
- seemingly rushed stepcharts
- No crossovers with good steps
- BG Videos = lol DoLL anime
- Home version unlock system sucked yet again
- Background Dancers/Stages limited
- PiX is not a different character just because you changed the color schemes
- US CS licenses overall better than AC
- So, basically nothing new?
- Kill ITG and make this?
- Why are new 8's harder than old 9's and new 9's easier than old 8's?

- 400 BPM songs. (okay Max.(period) but that was a JP version, so those of us w/out modded/JP ps2s have a new challenge at least!)
you're right, very unoriginal.
and if you're talking about the AC version: - Revamped Graphics and dancing characters
- some CHALLENGEING 10 footers (Max300SMMMO, and PARANOiA ~Respect~)
- high scores on individual songs
- Internet Ranking (don't know how it works exactly, but hey *NEW*)
